So I have completed the Daytona (Class C) Review
   

   

ALS Racing -Lancia BMC
   

The 1st of the two Lancia's entered. This is a Sideways Body & Chassis fitted with AW PSM21 Piranha  21.5k motor. No lights fitted

Test Run - very fast and smooth running car, perhaps a little less stable around corners than some of the other similar Group 5 cars.

Ruscillo Racing - BMW M1
   

This is a Sideways Body & Chassis model fitted with the standard 20.5k motor. No lights fitted.

Test Run - Another fast moving car perhaps seemed  more stable around the many bends on my Carrera track.

Team Groundhogs - De Tomaso Pantera
   

The 1st of the De Tomaso's, this Scaleauto body & SW Chassis version is fitted with a slot it 23k motor. Full lights fitted

Test Run - A little noisy and uneven around the gears area perhaps. And did not feel quite so smooth as many of the others. The pace appeared a little down on the Group 5 cars.

Courtney Sport - Camaro 72
   

Scalex body, Olifer 3d chassis, AW Predator 22.5k motor. No lights fitted

Test Run - Well I kind of expected Courtney to have played safe and enter his Porsche 914/6 from last year, but unexpectedly he has offered this superb car. All I can say is "be very afraid" I can't recollect having ran a slot car which is so quiet and smooth EVER. And does it move, well you Group 5 guys may be struggling to keep up !

Oaktree Racers - Porsche 914/6
   
I did have time to do a new photo, so I found this one from the Road Race archives.
The 914/6 eventually turned up, it is a re - run of the same car which entered the Brighton to John O Groats RoadRace in 2021.
SRC body & in line Chassis with M7 21k motor. Full lights fitted.
Test run- the tyres were only fitted before dispatching the cars to me, so they felt abit new and untried, but with settling in they will improve. Mid range speed kind of feel, but we know these cars can perform very well when run in.

Green Star Racing - De Tomaso Pantero
   

The 2nd Scaleauto body & Chassis De Tomaso Pantera, but this one fitted with AW SRC M6 20k motor. Full set of Lights. This is actually the 4th running of this model in our Proxy series, finished 4th in the "Brighton to John O'Groats Road Race", 7th in the "Lights on, Le Mans" and most recently 3rd in the "American Road Race". So could it be the top spot this time for this well travelled Proxy car 

Test Run - another very smooth runner and great on the corners.. and most importantly fast.

Well that it for tonight, as it is my club night, and I not been for a while, so I will complete the posting tomorrow morning

 OK I am back to finish this thread, I also did some soul searching last night in regard to the tyres width issue and decided to do a U-Turn (common acceptable political English term nowadays) and use the "conventional " measurement qualifying understanding of "Overall tyre wall width" rather than "surface contact area" as the Rules requirement. so I will edit the posting of Scrutineer Report Class B above accordingly shortly.

Team Tatters - BMW 320i
   

A Sideways body and chassis, Scaleauto AW 20k motor. Full lights fitted

Test Run - very smooth and fast, good around my multi corners track, will be a contender at the top as we might expect from this team.

Scott Sports - Porsche 911 Turbo
   

Scalex body with a AW JS Design chassis, I think an Allslot 22k "Red Devil" motor. No lights fitted.

Test Run - Good grip around my track and has enough power to be competitive in this class, but quite noisy around the gear mesh area, so does not run as smoothly as some of the others. A shame because I think this model would be a good choice, and I like the self decorated body work livery. Shame that the lights were not fitted which may have gave it more of an advantage, looks as if it was contemplated at one stage.

Harrisons Racers - Zakspeed Capri
   

Fly body with JS Design chassis, and IL Pioneer 22k motor. No lights fitted.

Test Run - the slightly narrower Fly body  and in line motor made it abit more unpredictable around the corners compared to the Sideways Group 5 cars, but ran quite smoothly at a respectable pace.

Bangers Racing - Lancia BMC
   

Another Fly body based car, so slightly narrower than the Sideways Group 5 cars, with a slot it HRS adjustable chassis (which we know this team generally speaking uses to very good effect), AW Scaleauto 22.5k motor. And front only lights

Test Run - yes very good runner, this time the AW orientation assisting the car around my track corners and the initial feeling is that this one will be up there with the top runners.

So after that very full Class C list of runners, it is time for a coffee break before I complete the Scrutineers Report.
