NHRA 4-Gear Eliminators
Our mix of modern Funny Cars, Pros Stockers and Pro Mods started with five races in Round One...
Pete's fabulous Bat Coupe Pro Mod was no match for Iain's top qualifier Funny Car. The winning margin was 0.424 and the ETs 0.729 and 1.135. Some work to do on the Pro Mod's chassis to get it running as good as it looks...
Race two saw Nico beat Clive by 0.173 seconds. The Funny car clocked 0.797 and the Pro Stock 0.961.
Rebecca's Funny car was a bit slow out of the blocks, but beat Ken's Pro Stocker by 0.123 seconds - the ETs 0.883 and 1.002.
Bill then swept aside Rose's on-loan Pro Stock by 0.176 seconds. Their ETs were 0.818 and 0.980.
Finally, Jerome and Andy had a closer race - they did qualify fifth and sixth after all. It was Jerome's DHL Funny Car that was victorious by 0.019 seconds - 0.816 to 0.826.
Round Two
Iain sat this round out, but Nico and Rebecca raced to see who'd meet him in the semi...
This was another close one - very close... Rebecca's GTX Funny Car started strongly, but Nico closed the gap... which was 0.018 seconds at the finish line... and the win went to Nico. The ETs were 0.789 and 0.799.
Bill met Jerome in the other race - the winner would progress straight to the final. Bill got away fractionally quicker and they went down the strip side-by-side. Who had won? Bill by 0.008 of a second - 0.813 to 0.817. Bill is in the final.
Semi-final
A single semi - and Iain would face Nico...
Both Funny Cars put in solid performances - which meant a win for Iain by 0.069 seconds. He'd meet Bill in the final. Nico and Iain's ETs were 0.797 and 0.731.
The final will be next...
