So completed the due diligence on the Civic following the RaceWars outing: -

• Replaced the standard pod screws with suspension screws with flexible washers and nuts. They won't undo in a hurry.
  
• Found some veeeery long body screws which will allow me to introduce float without risk of them falling out. Will block up the recesses in the chassis for the screws with bluetac.
  
• Have replaced the screw fixings for the wires into the guide with brass eyelets, glued in place.
  
• Have secured a piece of lead on the front of the pod in lieu of the blutac used for testing.
  
• Have taped the front of the screen in position as this came loose after the numerous offs testing.
  

And I think that is it done. Not necessarily bulletproof, but hopefully it will last the series in one piece.
