Sorry for all these questions but it's completely different from the 1/10 Electric i ran in the past.
The resistors are "RF" caps, and they are completely unnecessary,.......most folks remove them.
You can solder the motor wire directly on to the SCX contact strips..no issues (just make sure you test the motor direction before soldering).
You may want to replace the SCX guide and its "friction" connections with something a bit better........
