Global Touring Cars Challenge -Rounds & Results

Well done to the members of the Trelawney club for providing us with another great round in the South West of England.
Certainly there was a few unexpected results so very much looking forward to seeing the videos during the week.

Championship Review After Rounds 1-6
Smaller Saloon Cars (Event 1)
Class A Mini type cars
Fiery1 -Hillman Imp (16pts)
Woodcote - Abarth 1000TC (13pts)
BARacing -Abarth 1000TC (10pts)

Still ahead is the Hillman Imp of Fiery1, but close behind is Woodcote's Abarth.

Class B Small Saloons
Brumos RSR - Porsche 911 (56pts)
AdeC -Alfa GTA ( 48pts)
Demon Tweeks - Porsche 911 (47pts)

It will be an interesting last couple of Rounds as Demon Tweeks Porsche 911 is gaining points every Round.

Super & BTC Touring Cars (event 2)
Class C   Super Touring
Modsports - Audi A4 (64pts)
Oxo Cube - Sierra (35pts)
AdeC - Rover SD1 (31pts)

Modsports Audi A4 was the fastest car overall on Round 6, little chance for the others catch up now.

Class D   Modern BTCC
73Emgee - MG-6 (61pts)
Red Dragon - VW Passat (48pts)
Bangers Racing - Honda Civic (43pts)

73Emgee MG-6 similarly has an unstoppable lead now.

Larger Saloons (event 3)
Class E    Muscle Cars
Roadrunners - Falcon XB (60pts)
Oxo Cube -Falcon XC (38pts)
Brumos RSR - Camaro (37pts)

Both Falcons of Roadrunners & Oxo Cube struggled on Round 6, Brumos Camaro ran very well.

Class F  DTM Type Cars
AdeC - Calibre (83pts)
Bangers Racing -Peugeot 406 (82pts)
Modsports - Peugeot 406 (80pts)

Anticipating a very close run on the last two Rounds for this Class

So we will be taking a short break now until the cars are run at the Manx Slot Car Club for Round 7 on the 1st August

Thank you all for running the round and getting the most out of the #33 cars.  I did not expect to see the Camaro in front of the Falcons.  Today was the Camaros day I guess.  On the the next round and good luck on Raceday!

The Manx club have asked for their Round 7 to be brought forward due to personal circumstances.
So the cars will be dispatched at the end of this week.

Car inspection
The cars arrived back this afternoon, so I have inspected them all and replaced the outer cardboard box as the current one was looking a little worn and could be vulnerable to sending out again.

As far as I could ascertain in the short period I had to inspect them, mostly the cars look ok.
The Calibre of AdeC had the rear wing off the car, but was in the spares bag. There is a wing mirror part also in the bag, not sure which car that is from as yet.

BatManx Alfa 155 had loose ballast inside the car, which I have now reattached using hot melt adhesive. Also the crown gear seemed very tight, and there was an issue there with the wheels too tight onto the rear wheel bearings. I have very slightly backed them off a it.

Otherwise everything else looks good for the collection tomorrow.

The SCOREBOARD and Review will be done when I return.

The box has landed a little while ago (a very impressive box I might add, it should last years so a good investment).

I've rounded up the troops and the plan is to run our round tomorrow.  If it wasn't tomorrow we'd have to wait two weeks.

I'll do my usual car preview video next week as there isn't time tonight.

I'll check the cars over tonight, I know one of mine has a body post detached from inside the bodyshell but looking at it now I'd forgotten there was also one in the middle up front so I'll secure it to that.

Race videos will of course be done.  Thumbup Thumbup

...here's looking forward to the next few days  Cool
