Wavegreen Good Morning

I have inspected the cars and carried out a Health Check

These are the following issues:
RS Slot Racing #453  Aston Martin DB2. Rear tyre is slightly rubbing against interior tray on one side , I have repositioned the tape holding the tray,
Bangers Racing #22 Ferrari 166. Windscreen broken on one side
ModSports #39 Jaguar XK120B. Motor loose cracked chassis on screw location. Car to be sent back to the Manx garage for repair.
Equipe Trelawney #36 Lancia D24. Windscreen loose
Makem #3 Bizarrini. Gear mesh tight
Bangers Racing #6 Shelby Cobra. Windscreen lost, build up of rubber in wheel arch suggests rear tyres have been rubbing on pinion gear but looks clear now.
Batmanx #1 Porsche 908/02. Guide holder broken. To be returned to the Manx garage for repairing.
Bangers Racing #9 Porsche 911 Carrera. Some rubber loss on rear tyre rubbing on rear wheel arch ?
Equipe Trelawney #20 Porsche 908/03. Slight tyre wear due to contact with wheel arch.
ALS #12 Lola T280. Front wheels rubbing on body. Paint coming off rear wing.
BAracer #15 Alfa Romeo. Very poor braid condition. Needs replacing. Thin strip of lead ballast found in location transport box ?
Ruscillo Racing #6 Ford GT40. Slight tyre rubbing on rear wheel arch.

Cracked chassis and broken guide holders…..I truly hope those particular cars were well used prior to entry.  Builders put in a lot of time for detail and engineering.  A list like this except for minor details, ie tires rubbing, crown slipping, etc…brass guide holders maybe the way to go

It was not quite as drastic as it sounds, the car with the chassis in question was a 3d printed one and the motor was held with a 3d motor holder where it cracked across the grain of the printed surface. I have seen similar 3d parts fail before. And on the other car the guide holder was scratchbuilt with a brass piece glued onto a plastic part, probably not the most robust of constructions. So in both cases the car parts in my opinion was of vulnerable construction.

Graham, you always make me feel better… either you’re a shrink or a physical therapist in real life

I probably should have worded the failures more carefully, but basically the loose motor issue could have caused the 3d motor fixing to fail due to torque of the motor, it is difficult to say. But it was more of a motor mount issue then the rest of the chassis.

The other car seems to had a brass tube (to take the guide stem) glued onto a thin part of the original Fly guide holder, and it appears like the adhesive failed. Actually I understand the failure occurred as the car was being taken out the box, so never actually got onto the previous round race tracks.

But to answer Tony’s comment, I am not a therapist of any kind. But pleased if I give some assurance to those of a nervous disposition  Bigsmile

I have started to collate together the Videos from the Round 4 (Stage 7) Wearside Slot Car Club
The short video clips were taken by the youngest Club member, 10 year old Alex Lockey, I think he could have done with a wooden box to stand on, but some great action shots.

Classic (Event 1)

And the Gran Turismo Video short video clips from the Wearside Club.

And Finally the Prototypes cars Video Clips
