I've got the cars.

Wearside Round stars at 2pm on Saturday.

We are new to our premises so I can't guarantee we can get any Videos but I will try.

Tyneside round scheduled for 5pm Sunday, again not sure what video provision is there, again will try.

Wavegreen  Good evening,

the roar of the Targa Florio cars has been heard around the streets of Sunderland this weekend... or at least Gerry's car carrying them around  Bigsmile

So we had Stages 7 & 8 of Round 4 run yesterday and today.

The results for the Stage 7 at Wearside Slot Car club are below

There is an error on the Event 1 Podium photo, the Jaguar in 3rd should have been ModSports Jaguar XK120B #39, Batmanx Jaguar XK120 #21 was 4th.

Wavegreen Good afternoon,

so many thanks to the members of the Wearside & Tyneside Slot car Clubs of Sunderland, the cars have been dispatched and will arrive back at HQ for a quick health check before moving onto our next new venue, the Whitchurch Rally car club for their Round next Tuesday.

Targa Florio Road race update.
Generally the rounds in Sunderland although quite different seemed to favour Equipe Trelawney, Bangers Racing and Brumos cars perhaps more so. And another good round for Oxo Cubes Alfa 33/3. On the otherhand we had a Porsche 908/02 with broken guide holder, ModSports Jaguar XK120B with loose motor screws and Makem Bizzarrini with loose pinion. So looks like some cars are feeling the strain even at this relatively early part of the series. We will have a look to see if these issues can be sorted in time for the next Round.

Classic Event
Due to running issues on the last Stages, ModSports Jaguar XK120B works car has slipped back, putting the privateer version into 1st place. Brumos Corvette also did not fair so well, whereas Bangers Racing Ferrari 166 had a great run on both Stages, bringing it into contention for 3rd place.
1st - ModSports (Jaguar XK120A ) 77pts
2nd - ModSports (Jaguar XK120B) 76pts
3rd - Brumos RSR (Corvette C1) 73pts

Gran Turismo
Brumos and Demon Tweeks Corvettes and Bangers Racing Shelby Cobra doing well but so was Equipe Trelawney Ferrari 250P.
1st - Brumos RSR (Corvette Coupe) 84pts
2nd - Bangers Racing (Shelby Cobra) 76pts
3rd - Demon Tweeks (Corvette Corvette Speedster) 71pts

Prototypes
A good margin appearing between Roadrunners Ferrari 412P and the rest of the field, the Ford GT40 of Ruscillo Racing faltering abit on this Round. But the gradual emergance of Oxo Cubes Alfa 33/3 continues and its very close behind the Ford GT40 now. I am hoping to repair the Porsche 908/02 of Batmanx this week when I receive it if possible.
1st - Roadrunners (Ferrari 412P)  104pts
2nd - Ruscillo Racing (Ford GT40) 88pts
3rd - Oxo Cube (Alfa Romeo 33/3) 85pts

So the Class leaders are:
Class A - ModSports (Jaguar XK120A)
Class B- ModSports (Jaguar XK120B)
Class C - Equipe T (Ferrari 250P)
Class D - Brumos RSR (Corvette Coupe)
Class E - Batmanx Porsche 908/02)
Class F - Roadrunners (Ferrari 412P)

I should be receiving the Video footage from Wearside this week, which I will add. The Tyneside Club used Live streaming on their facebook page, so I might struggle to add the link on here for that but will look into it after posting the videos from Wearside.

I have been asked to clarify that the NERCS Club will continue to operate from their premises in Washington and my earlier statement that they were no more was incorrect. There are two of the organisers who know about slot racing so my other comment was incorrect too.

We wish the new organisers well.

We have had to close down the Club that was running at the North East Restoration Club in Washington. Not sufficient able bodied members to keep putting the heavy track up and down every month. The track is staying at Washington as the parent club claim it is their property. Good luck with that as nobody there has the slightest idea about slot car racing. It was at the end of its life and needs a lot of work.

We have formed a new club called Wearside Slot Car Club and based in the Upper Room, St. Peters Church in Monkwearmouth, Sunderland.

In the process of constructing a new track using Policar track, which will be permanent.

The rally track for this Proxy is still with us and the round will go ahead as planned.
