I am guessing its a NSR Shark 25k motor or an AW, if Courtney Sport managed to fit an NSR King in SW in a 1/32 car they did very well Rofl

Wavegreen Good morning,

my apologise for the errors in the cars listed last night, could not differentiate my "Kings" from my "Sharks" or for that matter my "AW" from my "SW's".
By the time I got to upload all the Event 2 cars it was was quite late (for an elderly gent) to be up and posting, so some errors crept in.

So I will check the Scrutineer report again before I post it for Event 2

Event 2 Scrutineer Report

All the cars have been accepted as compliant with the rules and no further actions will be required.

There are a couple of concessions made regarding car 11 which arrived without navigator and is very slightly lower at the back end than the specified track clearance. However taking into account that the entrant's first car was found to have the issue with the high magnetic downforce with the Pirahna motor and that otherwise that car had indeed been found to be fully compliant otherwise and fitted with Navigator. The replacement car was assembled at "break neck speed" in order to meet the deadline, bearing in mind that the owner lives in the USA. His deep enthusiasm for our Proxy events drove him to strive to enter an alternative car, and in that very short time period he did not have a spare interior with the navigator, and his motor mount did not allow sufficient track clearance due to it being the only one to hand at the time of the assembly.
So I have regarded the circumstances as exceptional, as we would not have known prior to the entry that the original motor would have caused an issue.

On the issue of Magnetic Downforce motors,
Last year I thought the problem with the BRM 23k rpm motor was a "one off incident" and mistakenly though this was only related to this particular brand. Unfortunately we learned this year that other brands are also producing similar High magnetic downforce motors using "Neo" magnets etc. And to be honest there is some evidence that even lower level magnetic downforce motors have a performance enhancing effect on metal rail plastic tracks.
So in future I will use a specified list of permitted motors for all future Proxy events, which in fact I have already instigated for the Autumn "Touring Cars Slotting" proxy series. If anyone wants to use an unspecified motor, they are welcome to send me the motor in advance for me to test on its own, and if compliant with my permitted limits on Magnetic downforce, I am happy to accept the motor onto the list.

I think we can be British about our USA cousins car, shake his hand to welcome him to the event etc... unless, of course, he smashes it out of the park, in which case Graham, you need to find a little used sub-clause of a sub-clause to reign him in and let him finish safely in the middle of the pack!

I love puttering with gears

I’m more than fine with this, but I would not expect much out of the M1.  It was assembled overnight while I was in touch with Graham through the process and again during inspection.  The miss on the 1.5mm ground clearance was so the car would not 3 wheel as I know I’m on a warped chassis.  Finally, Graham will be the first to drive any of my entries including the 914 as I have no test track at the moment.

Event 3 "Rally Legends"
If the Event 1 was a Jaguar shoot out, and the Event 2 an Audi shoot out.....then Event 3 is surely going to be a Porsche 914/6 & Triumph TR7 shootout  Bigsmile
Car 1

#3 Porsche 914/6 - Brumos RSR Class C
The first of many, this Porsche 914/6 is a SRC body, but with a Olifer chassis and SW Shark motor. Pretty fast in in the pre Proxy testing, but is a new build by the team.

Car2

#11 Triumph TR7 - Team Cube Class B
This has been a little bit of a problematic TR7 from the start, twice the body had departed from the chassis, so a little nervous about running this one. Hopefully with a little careful handling it will get round the series in tact. The car is a Scalex body with 3d chassis, in line Allslot 22k motor

Car3

#118 Porsche 914/6  Savage GT Class C
This is the 2nd car of the team, another quickie, based on SRC body but this one fitted with a Amato chassis and SW SRP 25k rpm motor.

Car 4

#52 Fiat 131 Abarth - RoadRunners - Class B
Always wanted to build this one for the Rally, used to be quite popular prior to the days of the SRC Porsche 914/6 models.
So it is a SCX body with a Amato chassis and fitted in line SRC 23K rpm M7 Motor

Car 5

#6 Triumph TR7 - BARacer Class B
Proved to be very quick in pre Proxy testing, this one could be a dark horse.
Scalex body with Amato chassis and Scaleauto 18k in line motor.

Car 6

#20 Ford Escort - Scott Sports Class B
Previously run in the American Road Race this is a Scalex body with a JS Design chassis and in line SRP 20K motor.

Car 7

#NN Porsche 914/6 - James@wyevalley Class C
Another Porsche, this one has a SRC body/chassis with M7 23K in line Motor.

Car 8

#2 Triumph TR7 - SSRC Class B
Welcome to SSRC who occasionally enters our Proxy events but also does some hosting duties, which we are very grateful for.
The final TR7, again a Scalex body with JS Design Chassis and in line standard Scalex motor.
Not awfully fast but has great decals  Sun

Car 9

#79 Alfa Giulia - ALS Racing Class B
Another car which was originally fitted with the Pirahna motor, and is now been fitted at Harlequin with the Entrants choice of a Scaleauto 25K rpm motor fitted in a 3d printed in line chassis.

Car 10

#78 Porsche 914/6 - Courtney Sport Class C
The 4th Porsche slightly different again from the others, with a SRC body, Olifer Chassis, SW Shark 20K rpm motor.
Fast !

Taking a break before posting the Scrutineer report

That's really surprising, I would never have thought the TR7 was a good choice...but fantastic to see them  Wrench

Event 3 Scrutineer Report

I am going to say that all cars are compliant with the rules with no futher action to be taken.

Car 9 did not have a navigator but this car had been sent on from the Autumn Rally event at Wye Valley where it had missed the deadline and did not get to participate, and then when it reached here, it had the Pirahna motor fitted, which meant that this had to be changed by me.
So on the grounds that this Entrant has already suffered enough, I am not going to apply any further pain on ALS Racing.

Hi Kevan,

I'm not sure about the TR7 being a good choice either, and I've entered one Bigsmile

Mine is a leftover from the TR7 proxy which Woodcote kindly hosted, 2020 I think. Bog standard Scalextric motor, so it won't set the world alight, but it looks pretty, so who cares!!
And at least its not another Porsche 914, in fact we have our own sub class to argue over Wrench
All show and no go?
Quite possibly  Thumbup
