I'm glad I didn't give up on trying to fit lights to all my cars. Avoiding the penalty for having no lights payed dividends!

I'm not sure how much power they diverted from the motor, but thought the "grain of wheat" lights was a simpler installation. Not as bright as LED's, so may not have been as visible for the drivers on the dark stages.

Great event, with the lighting twist. I guess we have been spoiled with more video coverage on other events. I felt we were kept a little in the dark, on this one. (No pun intended!)

SCX pitiful power , and my LMP suffered similarly 

one thing for sure my game definitely needs 'upping'

Well a big thank you to all, it was so nice to win something in slot car racing, it just shows it’s the driving which counts.. 
surprised to win the concourse... but my red spinners have got lost in the event so will have to outsource  some new ones for the Ford.

Yesterday was a hell of a long day so sorry for the lack of video footage but it becomes time consuming. 

Also you can have to much footage and all we want is to see our cars usually. In a perfect world we should just stream team cars but then the editing would be complex and time consuming. Live streaming can be ok but then you had to wait for your cars and have a at least three persons to complete the event.

The class A was an exciting finish.. with the Aston and the Porsche was equal time on the race with the Aston beating the Porsche due to fastest laps (3 fastest laps added together) in the day light. Come the night the Porsche was the faster, just beating the Aston by a second in the night stage making it first place with combined results.
Exciting to see that play out. 
A big thanks to Steve Hills as he achieved better lap times than I can on my track!!
He did have the latest Truspeed apex which is an awesome piece of kit.

I will get the pictures up of all the winners podiums after cooking tea but again a big thanks to all hosts and Graham for making the event run so smoothly and buying shares in DHL . ??

Thanks to all the hosts and organisers for the event. Was a mixed bag for me which is to be expected as I wasn’t particularly happy with my Pantera after swapping out the motor with the only one I had that would meet the spec requirements. My MGA was pretty but could probably do with a 3d chassis to get rid of all the scx crap. My Porsche performed ok though so can’t complain! Thanks again for everyone’s efforts and well done the the winners!

Just like to reiterate thanks to all the entrants and hosts, and to Graham for organising and coming up with a good set of rules and format.

As a participant more feedback would always be nice especially when a car suddenly performs better/worse than its average, but as a host I can say it took 4 hours so it's already quite a big commitment.

Re video, I think unless you have a great setup that can capture the whole track in hd or better it can be frustrating as it's hard to tell what car is what and the relative performance, but certainly something I would look at if SMSRC host something similar in the future. 

Personal performance wise I was pleasantly surprised, the class A car needed more fettling and a better guide, class B was just hamstrung by the lights (lack of) in terms of points but performance was good, class D would have faired better with lights and more tuning time, certainly things to work on. The Class A Porsche really opened my eyes to how good a standard scalextric can be so I'll definitely be in the market now for any new releases or liveries that the 'performance' brands aren't releasing.
