Accuracy would be the biggest problem there, unless you have access to the right equipment, I get Sandy to make mine, it's all CAD based and they come out perfect, saves all the hassle (and swearing)

I use 1mm thick brass sheet for all my chassis and brackets.
As for the 2 holes here is the explanation:
