Hi, a bit of a random one....
I have a number of the Cartrix Formula 1 cars, some purchased new, others second hand.
One of these had been modified, the previous owner stuck two nasty magnets under the car
The poor little motor would have been working overtime, with a ridiculous amount of magnetic grip to overcome. It has, of course, burnt itself out.
I can't find a replacement Cartrix TX1 motor anywhere. I don't want something vastly different to my other Cartrix Formula 1 cars, so where next? It needs to be can end, not bell end and about 13k rpm.
Pendle list a Slot it V12 motor at 13,600, any one know if this would be suitable, or has anyone done a similar motor swap....
Thanks,
Pip

Contacting Pendles would be my first port of call. I’m not sure about the Policar motor - if it is a direct replacement for the Toyota and Subaru ‘Homeracer’ cars, they feel more powerful than a 13k. Pendles can confirm and probably suggest something suitable.
I have a feeling Staffs are official distributors for Cartrix in the UK, so a message to Steve would also be an idea. If there are any spare motors knocking around, he will do everything he can to get one for you.
Looking for a can-drive S-can for a couple of George Turner 50s F1 cars, I ended up with the Carrera Evolution can. Although rated at 18k, it isn’t very torquey and might be another alternative to look at.

Thank you Woodcote
Will have a look, and make a few calls.
Happy New Year to you, and everyone out there

H&R's 14K Jackrabbit motor is great in these cars. If you can find a Ninco NC1, that is a 13K motor

Thanks Mitch,
Looks a spot on replacement, but, unfortunately I am in the UK. The postage plus duties make it uneconomical.

Arrrrgh.... why would anyone add so much magnetic downforce to Cartrix Grand Prix cars? After some initial TLC they perform very well without doing stuff like that!
These 1950s cars are supposed to drift and are perfect (once tuned) for proper driving and racing.
Mind you, some of the quality control from the factory could be a bit suspect and I've gradually over the years replace all the motors (to slot.it 21K), wheels, rear axles and gears.

Check out Pendles they will have something close. To get it even closer you can play with the gear ratio a bit.
