Our 2025 season kicks off with a WHO Mod & WHO Tuners night on Wednesday 8 January. Don't forget that we're introducing some changes to all our classes this year to simplify the rules and focus on chassis that are readily available in the UK. All the details are here: https://slotracer.online/community/showt...p?tid=4574

We have a brand new track design to start the year - an 85-footer with a fly-over...

Both our super-fast WHO Modified class and the slightly slower hard-bodies WHO Tuners run in the same heats and finals. We expect the speed differential between the two to close over the next two seasons with the rule changes. WHO Mod remains lexan-clad and is for the Viper and Bulldog chassis. From this month, WHO Tuners is restricted to the Bulldog and AFX Mega-G+ chassis.

As always for HO, doors open at 6.15pm for practice with the heats starting between 6.45 and 7 o'clock, depending on numbers. Race fees remain £3 for adults and £2 for under-16s. Club cars and controllers are available for no extra cost.

hello,

I recently bought a new controller, a DS 35 ohm, which gets hot over time. I had never actually noticed it with my old controllers, but I was wondering if this is normal and if so, why?

I'd like to hear it,
Robbin

I know I am easily pleased and should probably get out more but:-
I was looking for something in my computer settings recently and came across some additional controls for the mouse pointer, specifically the colour thereof. Now I have always thought that you could only have a black one or a white one which means that various background colours on the screen make the pointer virtually invisible.

Step forward 'inverted colour scheme'. Now the pointer turns black on a white background, white on a black one, red on a blue one and so on. No more lost pointers. Wrench

Apologies if I am teaching my Grandmother to suck eggs here but I have been using computers for over 30 years and never knew you could do this till last week.

Introduction
General
There is a few clarifications I wish to make regarding this proxy.
Originally this proxy was thought of as a Revoslot GT based proxy as there was some interest in this proposal, however we soon found out that the level of interest was insufficient to make it a stand alone proxy. So it it has evolved into basically a "construction" based structured proxy with the opportunity for those with or without Revoslot Cars to participate in the 3 designated Events for GT1, GT2 and Prototype cars of the era's 80's, 90's and 00's.
It is therefore intended to make the eventual winners of each event representative for each of the construction category types ( Standard Revoslot, Modified Standard RTR and Procars). But this will of course depend on representative cars of each construction category being entered in each event ?

Car lists
The cars I have listed are only those I believe raced within the period of the proxy, they do not include more recent modern designated GT3 or, recent LMP cars etc.
However there are some GT1 cars of that period which effectively became designated  GT3 cars as the classifications of the period evolved.
I have included some NSR and Scaleauto cars accordingly (but they must be fitted with permitted motors as listed )

Eligible Motor List
It is expected that we will be using some host tracks where (motor magnetic generated traction) can offer an advantage when cars are fitted with certain motor types (in particular long can motors tend to naturally have higher Torque generated with stronger magnets). So the list has been limited to motors having a similar "measured" Magnetic Traction effect.

Chassis
Standard Revoslot Cars with metal chassis are permitted within each of the Events accordingly as a "Standard Car Category", however other metal based chassis types like Brass & Wire or steel are only accepted in the Prototype / Group C for Event 3. They are not permitted for GT1 or GT2 cars (Events 1 &2)

Rounds
In general the rounds are intended to run on Club based tracks (if available), if not other home based tracks maybe included in the series.
For this proxy I will be looking to run 8 Rounds over 4 months. Should I feel it is necessary to run another round in order to break a dead heat situation this can be decided later in the series.

Entries
From the feedback list of intended entries so far we are looking at running about 30 cars, but this might change nearer the date depending on the actual number of entrants & cars registering. So although 2 car entries are guaranteed for those who have indicated this wish to date, there will be scope for a 3rd car entry until the Registration date 1st February 2025 (I am only expecting a handful).  For this proxy you can have cars running in the same event but they must be of a different construction category.

Entrants list to date
Roadrunners (3)
Makem (3)
Oxo Cube (3)
Mark W (3)
Chris K (3)
BARacer (3)
ModSports (2)
BatManx (2)

Brumos RSR (2)
ALS (2)
Paul C (2)
Mike174 (2)
Steve R (2)
Mike B (1)
Mike S (1)
Sam D (1)

I would ask please that if any of the above have changed their intention to enter or their number of entries, that they let me know please earlier rather then later.

Proxy Entry Cost
1 car £15, 2 car £20, 3 car £25

Technical Rules
They have not changed, but I have put them here also for direct reference.

Can anyone identify this chassis please? Photos show it 'as sourced' from a Roger Barker eBay B.I.N.

It's 1/24 scale with a Buhler 'can-drive' motor held in place with a longitudinal metal strap over the top.

The wheelbase (LENGTH folks!) is adjustable by loosening off a single screw.

The front axle is, I suspect, not original as it's running what from distant slotracing memories are Revell aluminium threaded fronts with ribbing across the width of the tyre well.

The rear axle uses grub-screwed alloy wheels with smooth wells, so finding more suitable tyres all round has been a bit of fun - but my spares box did eventually turn up something a bit better than the green fronts and 'rubber band' profile sponges on the rear.

There are no bearings as such, the rear axle being held in the chassis by screwed down caps on the upper side and the front just running captive in the plastic.

Gear ratio is 3.57 to 1. (Crown wheel is 25t, while the brass pinion has 7t.)

(I don't know that the rear running gear is original to the chassis either.)

The front runs a copper-sprung drop-arm with a non-original guide. (How do I know? The hole has been sleeved with 'something' (a wooden dowel?) - that has been bored out to take a more usual flagshaft that rides slightly nose high in the slot.

Offered for sale is this rare and beautiful 1/24 scale Mercedes SSK by SMP, Germany.
The car is part of a limited edition of 1000.
I've had her 20 years and have just put her on the track for the first time, to check she goes.
Glides around the track beautifully and the tyres are in A1 condition. Body and chrome work, both excellent with no missing parts or repairs.
Chassis excellent with the added bonus of a drop arm. Cockpit and windscreen are excellent.
Red plastic base of box is excellent. Perspex lid is very good with only the tiniest lug missing.
These cars were so hard to find back in the day. I got this one from Holland. They're even harder to come by now. I can't remember anyone else doing an SSK. Try and find one for sale on Ebay ect.
£80 plus £4 Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For Postage.
UK only I'm afraid.
Thank you for looking
Kev

hello, I had the following question, I have a nice analog Ninco track, and now I would like to use laptimer 2000. I have an RS232 port on the back of my PC, the point is what I don't understand is how this cable to connect/solder to my Ninco track.

I also have a Ninco Sprint lap timer, and there is a mini UTP cable?, is this possible to convert?

I would like to hear what my best (and perhaps simplest) options are. Kind regards, Robbin

I bought this sheet from Rallye-Miniatures, for a project that won't happen now.  It's for the Pierro Liatti entry in Catalunya 1995.  There is one decal missing.

Depending on the cost, I might have to charge for postage outside the UK.

Due to potential house move, I'm selling-off all the cars I rarely (or don't.......) use.

The first one is this Scalextric C4428 Impreza.

It has had very minimal use.  To be honest, I thought of describing it as new.

£30 posted to UK addresses.  Non-UK postage subject to individual pricing.
