A few days ago SRC introduced the two works Martini Lancia Delta S4, which debuted in the WRC during the RAC Rally 1985.
Henri Toivonen and Neil Wilson won the event, but only after his leading teammates Markku Alen and Ilkka Kivimaki went off the road.
Alen won more special stages (27 out of 65) than his teammate Toivonen (16 wins), but could only finish second.
Lancia was very pleased with the one-two result of their brand new rally car.
There are some differences between both well detailed four wheel drive SRC Lancias.
The number 6 car is on slick tyres RN0101 and RN0116 and the number 3 Lancia is on four gravel tyres RN0109.
Both cars show the correct rim inlets for gravel and tarmac.
I decided to fit the included auxiliary lights only on the winning no.6 car.

We came, we saw, we purchased. Yes, we've been to the UK Slot Car Festival at Gaydon.
In this episode of Talking Utter Slot: a breakdown (not mental), a race report (did Pedro win?) and Scott buys a Robin while getting wistful over Minic Motorways.
We spoke to Brad from America, but neither of us spotted 'Vincent' from Australia. Just proves you can't win them all, as Pedro found out.
Enjoy.
Selling my McLaren F1, I just don’t get on with it, set up for wood track for me, by our club expert, no magnet, some weight, runs very smoothly, if anyone interested I can email/WhatsApp photos , I was thinking £40 including postage in UK ?
So i came across this really neat item and wasnt sure if anyone was familiar with the history of revell and their 1/25 scale slot cars. Wasnt sure if this was worth anything. It is a large hobby dealer store display. 18x25"
Bit of a long shot here but has anybody got one of these SCX NASCARs they want to part with at a reasonable price?
Looking for these two cars:
62380 - Chevrolet Monte Carlo Reeses
63420 - Dodge Charger Havoline
I don't need mint boxed just good used condition as they will be raced.
Also looking for pod complete with motor, magnet and rear axle for same or complete Monte Carlo chassis.
I started this build thread because I think these cars are run often and they're pretty popular. Here's the kit in its purest form, right out of the box.
I've since cleaned up the flashing all around the car. I also hollowed out the grill and rear tail light locations. I still have to bore out the front locations because lights will get installed in front and rear. I first applied an 800 coat of MrHobby gray primer, then sanded until I was almost back to plastic. Then I used this Stynylrez primer and gave it two coats. Here's how it looks.
I'll let this dry for a day and then sand it smooth with 1000. I'll then give it a first coat of color.
Stay Tuned!
Back in 1968, the release of the 1969 French Scalextric catalogue showed all the cars as was usual, that would be available in 1969. Normally in the catalogues, Scalextric/Mecano would show cars in the colours that would be available for sale. Lo and behold, there was a big head driver (already this type long out of production) Purple Vanwall. As we all know this car in this colour was never released. To the best of my knowledge there are also no known pre-production purple samples available or been seen (open to correction on this).
On one of te FB pages, an offhand comment was passed that Mikel at Iberslot should make the fabled purple Vanwall. Mikel is very well known for his masterful re-creations of Early scalextric impossible to find in 'that colour' cars. I have a few of these cars and the recreation is point perfect. His work is simply fantastic. Mikel then said if 25 takers were found he would produce the car. 25 people very quickly took up his offer, and his production started. Mine arrived yesterday, and as i expected it is wonderful. Mine has an original 1960s's Scalextric RX motor, with new square single pin guide, along with original metal contrate. To me - simply wonderful.
As an aside:
We have already had one or two people saying we (those who bought them) are just trying to create fakes to sell to unsuspecting buyers at exhorbitatnt prices. However from what I see all those who bought are collectors and wanted a talking point in their collection that also fills a gap of what was shown in catalogues. Personally I will never hide that its a recreation, but to be honest even though it is a recreation, it is artisinal work of the higest degree, with a lot of original parts and thus if I ever did sell it, it will always be relatively expensive.
For me it is just a joy and I hope you all enjoy this unusual and fun item.
