Were you aware that many branches of Aldi, Asda  have free charging points for electric cars and all Sainsbury stores have it? LINK I certainly wasn't till recently. Tesco also used to do it but have stopped now. So my grocery spend is now subsidising other peoples' fuel consumption. I doubt they are going to give me free petrol next time I fill up though! I've replaced the motors in a few of my cars - mostly FF-050s - without replacing (stupidly..........) the capacitors.  Bearing in mind my track is analogue, do I actually need the capacitors?  I left them attached to the displaced motors, and I've given them away now.   Tappingfoot

Thanks,
Stuart.

Hi
I bought a RevoSlot Alfa Romeo GTA. Trying to convert it to digital using a Scalextric c7005 module for single seaters.

Is using this module a mistake? The car runs and changing lanes fine, but only if I use minimal (5%?) throttle. As soon as I go beyond that in throttle the car stops and behaves as if it is dead. When I take it out of the slot and put it back it resets, but works the same again.

Anyone who think they can help me with this?

Thanks in advance

hi guys
bought one of these a while back

it did seem to do a good job
it came with some clear plastic squares to vac form with
but these were/are quite thick and too soft/flexible for screens/interiors etc
so set it aside as an indulgent investment . but would like to to resurrect it

i was wondering what material everyone else uses for their vac forms ?
i am not the best when it comes to chemical compounds/plastic types or even internet searches . so links to specific products would be ideal in my case please

thankyou in advance
Kev

btw . UK based . therefore EU and other areas would sadly bring high shipping costs

I'm not so OCD that I could be called a "rivet counter".  However..............

It boils my water that Hornby/Scalextric and TeamSlot (there may also be others which I haven't noticed) make a car with wipers in left hand drive layout and then put right hand drive interiors in.

I could forgive them producing a car totally the wrong way 'round, but not half-and-half.  For example, many of the works rally Escort mk1s were left hand drive, so why put the wipers on the left and the driver on the right?   Tappingfoot   The TeamSlot Escort RS2000 is the same (well, the one I bought is).

Hi

I have a bunch of the C8203 track pieces. But when I connect them to my Arc Pro setup I get a power overload failure.

Are there different versions of this type of piece? Is the C8510 a 2xC8203-pack?

Or when writing this I realise perhaps they always must be connected in pairs?

Do you know?

Scalextric have announced some additions to the My First and Micro Scalextric ranges in their 2024 catalogue launch today. The focus remains on the younger family audience, where both My First and Micro are proving very successful.

First, there’s a new DC Comics licence tying in to the Batwheels pre-school cartoon series…

There are two new sets - one My First and one Micro Scalextric - featuring three different cars. There’s Bam (Batman) and Redbird (Robin), plus a Prank (aka The Joker) truck.

These are due in the summer, priced at £54.99 and £69.99. The sets are supposedly UK-only, as Carrera has the licence worldwide. Both are battery powered, but a mains power base upgrade is available as an accessory pack.

The rest of the sets stay in production, although Formula E won’t be renewed. The selection of individually packaged cars is the same, with no extras this year.

A new humpback bridge and track support system are added to the range of accessory packs - adding to the variety for building big and exciting layouts. Similar to the individual cars, the accessory packs are priced to sell at £15-17.50, making them ideal pocket money purchases.
