Calendar

Pages from the 2023 SlotRacer calendar
  • 2023 SlotRacer Calendar The SlotRacer Calendar for next year is now available to download and print. It has a year to a page frontispiece for easy reference, then separate pages for each month with plenty of room for your notes, reminders and the dreaded ‘to do’ list. Each page features one of Doug Johnson’s fabulous slot car photos, and the calendar prints at a standard A4 size.

Magazines

  • Más Slot It is the end of an era for Spanish magazine Más Slot. After 20 years and 246 issues Paco Hernandez has announced that the current issue will be his last, as he is retiring. According to Paco… “Publishing the magazine started almost as a hobby and ended up becoming my way of life for the last twenty years.”

3D

  • Controller Rests John May has produced some nifty controller rests which can be mounted vertically or horizontally, and are available as STL files for anybody who has a 3d printer, or from John direct for those who don’t. Brian already has them installed on his track, and gives us his verdict.

Feature

British Racing Motors

Scratchbuilt BRM P57
  • This week we feature B.R.M. who are claimed to be the only constructors apart from Ferrari to have won the World Championship with a car they built completely themselves including the chassis, engine and gearbox. We’re expecting to have a much bigger B.R.M. feature ready for you in the not too distant future, but just to whet your appetite….
  • 1962 BRM P261 Brian takes a look at a 2007 Vintage series release from SCX, and although he says the “these Vintage series cars… are really good performers” and “the RX motor is an enduring wonder of 60s technology”, there are other areas where he is (ahem) a little more critical.
  • BRM 578 Stackpipe Ken likes to choose unusual colours for his builds, and this BRM 578 Stackpipe was no exception. As usual though the kit was fitted with one of his custom built aluminium chassis, so it’s probably a great little runner.
  • BRM 578 Stackpipe Chris also built a BRM P57, using a heavily modified Lindberg body, with plenty of detailing additions, and a custom built, flexi board chassis underneath.
  • Pre-Wing BRM Transporter To get your BRM slot cars to the races, you’re obviously going to need a BRM transporter. Woodcote previews the Pre Wing model.
  • BRM P153 Monaco Anthony posted up a lovely build of Pedro Rodriguez’ 1970 BRM P153. The model was built from a Betta and Classic fibre glass body with a brass chassis.
  • Policar BRM P153 & P160 Woodcote reports on the Policar BRM P160 of Jo Siffert which won the 1971 Austrian Grand Prix at the Österreichring, and other potential versions of the car.
