The fastest slot car news anywhere.

This week we’re looking at some lively liveries, with shocking psychedelics, perfect pinks, and papayas, and only Mr Turner bucking the trend and opting for gentlemanly restraint. We also take a look at some choice chassis, and of course we have our round up of forthcoming events, verified videos, and fantastic photos.

Available Now

- Slot Car Market Pendle Slot Cars have added over 300 items to their Slot Car Market. These are mostly new, used, old favourites, and usually one-off stock items from the Pendle Slot Racing warehouse, so they might not be available for long.
Coming Soon

- Thunderslot New Releases Thunderslot have posted photos of three new releases which are expected to arrive in time for Christmas. From left to right, we have A.J. Foyt’s Nassau Classic winning Lola T70 MkII spyder, the 1969 Brands Hatch Lola T70 MkIII of Craft/Liddell & the McLaren Elva which took victory at the 1965 Aspern GP in the hands of Charles Vogele. I wouldn’t even know how to describe the colour of Foyt’s car. Pastel, metallic, light turquoise?

- Slot.it Audi R8 GT3 LMS EVOII Slot.it have unveiled prototype photos of the first livery for the new Audi R8. The model recreates the evocatively liveried Audi driven by Christopher Haas, Christopher Mies, and Patric Niederhauser, in the 2023 24 hours of Nürburgring. Expected in the first quarter of 2024, and available to pre-order imminently.

- Slot.it Acura ARX-05 Slot.it have also revealed prototype photos of another new car, the Acura ARX-05. The strikingly liveried Acura was driven to a hard fought victory in the 2022 24 hours of Daytona by Tom Blomqvist, Hélio Castroneves, Oliver Jarvis, and Simon Pagenaud. The chassis, cockpit and rear of the body are the same as the Oreca 07, so I guess you’d expect it to make a good racing partner. Expected in the second quarter of 2024.

- NSR Porsche 917K It has been a week for striking liveries, and NSR have brought us two more, with these Martini ‘Hippie’ liveried Porsches. On the left we have the Siffert/Ahrens Porsche which took second place at the 9 hours of Kyalami in 1970. And on the right we have the Lennep/Larrousse 917 which took ninth place in the 1970 6 hours of Watkins Glen. Expected very soon and available to pre-order.

- NSR McLaren Formula 22 Also from NSR this week, are two new liveries for the Formula 22 range. The stunning “Stealth Mode” McLaren liveries recreate the cars driven in Singapore and Japan by Norris and Piastri. Also expected very soon and available to pre-order now.

- BRM Datsun 240z BRM have posted photos of the first liveries for their forthcoming 1/24 scale Datsun 240z. The three crisply liveried beauties recreate the 1970 Bob Sharp Racing car, John Morton’s 1970-71 SCCA Championship winning car, and the sister BRE car of Dan Parkinson. Expected in March 2024.

- Frazer Nash Owlet In complete contrast to some of the other liveries here, George Turner brings us something much more restrained, namely the lovely Frazer Nash Owlet, which he has just completed. Some of the kits have been taken to the Orpington swapmeet, and are probably being snapped up as I write, and the kit should also be available through the George Turner models website this week.
Chassis

- Dynamic 60’s commercial track chassis build With a big box of Dynamic parts still on hand, Chrisguyw has built a chassis for some local 1/24 vintage racing. As we’ve come to expect, the craftsmanship is immaculate.

- Flying Fiona 1929 FIAT Tibbs has begun his scratch build of Flying Fiona, a 1929 FIAT, and the chassis work is truly exceptional. The bar has been set very high for the rest of the build.
