KRace Event

The Race Event property sheet page is used to define a new Lap Timer 2000 race event. Use the settings described below to specify the various settings for this race. Use the File | Race menuFile Menu command or the Ctrl+R shortcut to open and display the Lap Timer 2000 Race Settings property sheet.





Note: After filling out the Race Event property sheet page select the Drivers & CarsDrivers & Cars tab to complete your race definitions.


KRace Class

Select the competition class from the drop list, or use the Edit button off to the right to define a newAdding & Modifying Classes competition class.


KTrack Name

Use this entry field to specify the name of the race track that this event will be run on. The race track name you specify will be used for Lap Timer 2000 Race Result reports.


KTrack Image

Use this entry field to specify a picture of your race track. The picture you specify will be included in Lap Timer 2000 Race Result reports. You may also select an image file automatically by using the Browse button off to the right of this entry field.


KRace Type

Lap Timer 2000 can be used for several different types of races. See the settings below to specify the type of race to be run.


KTimed Race

Select this setting for races that will be run for a specified period of time. When a Timed Race is specified the Minutes Total field described below must also be filled.


KMinutes Total

Use this entry field to specify the number of minutes this race will last.


KHeat Race

Unimplemented. See the Lane RotationLane Rotation section for instructions to advance drivers to the next lane for heat racing.


KMinutes / Heat

Unimplemented.


KFixed Lap Count

Select this setting for races that will be run for a specified number of laps. When a Fixed Lap Count is specified the Laps field described below must also be filled.


KLaps

Use this entry field to specify the total number of laps in this race.


KDisplay Status

Check this setting to optionally display a small Race StatusRace Status window during racing events. This status window will provide updated information about the current race position of each driver and the amount of time or the number of laps remaining in the current race.


KFile Name

Use this entry field to specify a file name for this race. The Lap Timer 2000 Race Result file that is created will be stored in file with the name you have specified here.


KDisplay Results

Check this box to automatically display the HTML Race Results Report using your web browser when a race is completed.


KFrom Current Track Position

Check this box to start timing and counting laps from the current track position instead of the Start/Finish line. This option is useful if you are running heat races and wish to have lap counting start as soon as a race is underway.


Note Check this box ONLY for heats subsequent to the starting heat.


KAdd Timestamp

Check this box to automatically include the current date and time in the file name you specify. Due to MS Windows file naming restrictions the time stamp will be hyphenated, i.e. a time of 10:15 will actually be displayed as 10-15, with the colon being replaced by the dash character.


Note: After filling out the Race Event property sheet page select the Drivers & CarsDrivers & Cars tab to complete your race definitions.


KOK

Press this button when you have completed your race definitions. When you press this button the race definition you have created will be saved.


KCancel

Press this button to close the Lap Timer 2000 Race Settings window without making any changes. If you have made any changes to the race definition and then press this button your changes will not be used, and your previous race definition will remain in use.


KHelp

Press this button to open the Lap Timer Help Window and go directly to the Race Event topic.
