Lap Timer 2000 is a small MS Windows program that will count and time laps on any slot car track with up to 4 lanes. Lap times for each lane are displayed in a larger font that can easily be seen from a distance. The background color for each lane corresponds to that lane’s color which can be definedTrack Settings by the user to match their track.
The best lap time in the session is displayed throughout the race or practice session along with the current lap number. When Lap Timer 2000 is first launched it is automatically started in the Practice ModePractice Mode. This allows you to immediately begin counting and timing laps whenever Lap Timer 2000 is started.
Lap Timer 2000 uses high-resolution MS Windows timing functions accurate to 1/1000 of a second to count and time laps. Hardware interfacesLap Timer Ports are provided to attach lap counting switches to the Parallel Printer port, Serial RS-232 Communications port or the Joystick Game Pad interface.
Each and every Lap Timer 2000 window, dialog box and property sheet has a [Help] button in the lower right-hand corner. If you don’t understand the settings and options available in the window you’re currently viewing please use this [Help] button. Lap Timer 2000 can also be used as a manual stopwatch by selecting the keyboard interfaceLap Timer Ports instead of a computer interface port.

Hot Laps Database
Lap Timer 2000 also includes a small Hot Laps DatabaseHot Laps Database. This database can be used to record both race results and information about specific practice and qualifying sessions. A comments section is included to record slot car setup and modification data.
Lap Timer 2000 is fully Y2K compliant and will run on MS Windows XP, Millennium Edition and 98 as well as MS Windows 2000 and 95/NT systems.

Desktop Locations
Lap Timer’s location on the desktop is saved when the program is exited. Whenever you start Lap Timer 2000 it will reappear on the desktop where you last placed it. Lap Timer property sheet locations are also stored and reused the next time they are opened.
Taskbar Tray
Lap Timer 2000 can be optionally configured to place its program icon in the Taskbar Icon Notification Tray. This option provides a simple means of keeping the taskbar button region clear for other running programs.
