Track Planning
This is a step by step log of the construction of the first J-Trak build.
The design is a four module digital layout for home use, with two additional modules for use at public events.
Layout Design
The layout was first designed using track layout software, including the module sizes, and the extra modules.
Track Layout

Design Brief
The requirements for the track were as follows...
- Portable
- Level infield
- Easy marshaling
- Unobstructed racers view
- Unique compound corners
- Fast medium & slow sectors
- Well spaced lane changers in slower sections
- Stackable
- Variable
- Expandable
- Easy Assembly
- Wide run off areas
- Pit lane and garages
- Monitor
- Better connectivity
- Easier maintenance
- Non shedding grass
- More room for static cars
That obviously seems like quite a demanding list of requirements, and quite a lot of planning went into making sure that the design brief was met.
