Thanks Andy,
I'm strangely drawn towards the Police Capri but that is all.
Thanks for keeping us informed.  Surprised that Hornby didn't do a live presentation on social media.

Now hoping that they do a regular DMC 12.

There's a nice display of TV/Movie and Gulf-liveried cars - neither are new themes for Scalextric, but they look pretty strong in 2020 and, I suspect for the future. TV and movie cars have to be done properly with the iconic cars - and you can't get more iconic that the James Bond Aston Martin DB5...

This an update for the new Bond 'No Time To Die' film, which is due in cinemas this April. Alongside the DB5 is a very nice 1977 V8 Vantage which also appears in the new film as well as 'The Living Daylights'. Nice car is the V8, although the race car was rather different.

Another iconic movie car is the DeLorean from the 'Back to the Future' films. I didn't get to test it on track, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a fully-functioning time machine.

Next to the DeLorean are two new cars produced under the DC Comics license. On the left is the individual car version of the superbly-decorated Batman LMP car that appeared recently on facebook. On the right is a Joker-inspired car - a fab livery on the new Scalextric Rasio hypercar model (more of that later). Versions of these two also appear in a 2020 DC Comics licensed set.

Finally in the TV and movie cars we have the 'Only Fools and Horses' twin pack...

The three-wheeler will be a 'Marmite' car, but I can't imagine anyone disappointed that there's a Mk3 Capri in the Scalextric range. There's a police car and racing livery also available this year - neither will have leopard-print upholstery though.

A quick look at those Gulf cars...

This is the ROFGO triple pack featuring three cars from the incredible ROFGO collection of Gulf-liveried racing cars (www.rofgo.com). Really rather nice for those Scalextric Gulf collectors out there.

There's also a super little Escort Mk2 which can be seen at events around Portugal, driven by Rui Azavedo. And in the background of the first image is a picture of a Gulf Lotus Evora - an unexpected, but welcome return of the Evora to the catalogue.

Next I'm going to look at the new British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) cars.

The big news is that there is new tooling for the BMW 330i M Sports cars run in 2019 by West Surrey Racing...

The two liveries will be Scalextric ambassador Andrew Jordan's Pirtek Racing car and 2019 BTCC champion Colin Turkington's Team BMW car. Development is at the prototype stage and there is this 3D printed model on show...

In addition to the new tooling, three new liveries will be available this year...

There's Sam Osborne's Excelr8 Motorsport MG6, Rory Butcher's AmDTuning Honda Civic Type R and the Team Hard VW Passat CC of Michael Crees. There are the three BTCC re-liveries I was hoping for!

Staying with modern racing series and new tooling, I'll look at the 2020 GT cars...

The first new car is the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Many Scalextric GT fans were hoping for this one. It'll appear individually in two liveries - the Garage 59 car from the 2019 Blancpain Endurance series and the TF Sport car from the 2019 British GT Championship - and also in the ARC Pro Platinum set (the box art shows the Garage 59 car).

Alongside the Vantage is the underside image is the new Ford Mustang GT4 (note the 'pony' cutout on the motor grille).

This will also appear in two liveries - Multimatic Motorsports and RACE Performance - both from the 2019 British GT Championship. The Multimatic car also appears on the box art of the ARC Pro Platinum set.

The GT re-liveries for 2020 look great too - including a Bentley and a Wynne's Mercedes-AMG in the ARC Pro Platinum set. I understand these specific set cars will be high detail, with clear windows. For individual cars, there are two more Mercedes-AMG GT3s and these two fab Ford GTEs from the 2019 Daytona and Le Mans races...

I think everyone was hoping for that purple-ish Wynne's car. So here it is again...

The images of the two Mercedes GT3s look nice - and look even better on the Scalextric website! Both are 2019 cars, the Gruppe M Racing car from the Bathurst 12 hours and the RAM Racing Blancpain series car.

Another new model firmly in the modern era is Scalextric's very own hypercar, the Rasio C-20...

Apparently 'Rasio' means 'racing' in Welsh and the new car is designed to both delight younger hypercar fans and to act as a new workhorse in sets to replace the older Lightning GT cars. The Rasio C-20 can be fitted with working front and rear headlights, clear or black windows and is Digital Plug Ready, making it a versatile car in the Scalextric stable. This first individual model will be released in the blue and yellow of Scalextric. A version with working lights appears as the Joker-inspired car available individually and in the Batman vs Joker set. A 1/64 scale version of the Rasio will appear in two of the three new Micro Scalextric sets this year.

Another release in the Super-Resistant range for 2020 is another Racing Truck. This one will be red, white and green...
