Scalextric 2025 range
#1

The Scalextric releases for 2025 are up on their website if anybody is interested. LINK It doesn't say whether this is the whole range or half of it like last year.

Volvo pre-ordered!

A car that came out right in the sweet spot of my BTCC fandom.

I love puttering with gears

Ken Miles triple pack pre ordered. I’ll probably get the Hertz Shelby GT350 too.

I believe Scalextric said they were going back to one single launch again this year, so this is probably the lot.

If only I could get Scalextric cars to run satisfactorily, mag-less, on my rally loop..........   Tappingfoot

Best regards,

This is the ‘full’ range launch - a far better experience in my opinion! However, there may well be some ‘surprise’ announcements through the year (sorry if that spoils your surprise….).

Personally, I think there’s some really great stuff in there. For racers, there’s another touring car gap being filled with the Volvo and BMW 320i - plus the bang-up-to-date Mustang GT3 and the Porsche LMDh. The Porsche joining the Cadillac is brilliant. I agree with Hub with the Sierra - didn’t see that coming! And loads of great new liveries, including two nice Anglias - one a hot rod. And Gerry Marshall’s Triplex Capri. I’m still hoping for a Dolomite…

The collectors twin and triple packs are pretty nice. I’m glad they’re sticking with these, despite some classy releases ending up in the sales bin last year. The two rally packs - 1965 Monte and Colin McRae triple - are very tempting. The Ken Miles release too.

The TV & Movie stuff brings in the money and new customers. The Captain Scarlet vehicles should hopefully follow on from the success of FAB1. If I had the space and the cash, I’d snap up any Gerry Anderson cars that come out - it is full-on 70s nostalgia for me.

And those are a decent pair of 1:32 beginners sets - one showcasing the new Fast & Furious franchise - and a new Micro release too. Scalextric - and Hornby generally - are reported to have done really well last Christmas, with sets the keystone to that success. They have an attractive line-up to choose from and these new ones are nice additions.

It really is good to see the full arc of the team’s creative efforts in one go. An excellent year - a couple of new tools off one of their best, I think.

For me this is another excellent range launch, well done Hornby Scalextric  Thumbup

The Porsche 963 Hypercar looks fabulous,  and the latest GT3 spec Ford Mustang.   Definitely be giving those a go.

As Woodcote has already noted, the Super Tourers  BTCC BMW, and particularly the Volvo Estate,  should go down very well.  Its time that BTCC era was revisited.    The Volvo will surely be extremely popular.

Some nice looking Rally cars, including a little Golf GTi, by the looks of it.

Captain Scarlet vehicles are awesome!   Not something I was over keen on, or particularly remember, from childhood but amazing bits of kit to produce.   Hopefully bringing Hornby Scalextric plenty of sales.....

Love the new Collectors twin/triple boxed sets.   The Ken Miles set being my favourite.  A proper Motor Sport hero....

So pleased to see the Gerry Marshall Triplex Ford Capri.  Brings back memories of going racing with my Dad,  he thought Gerry was the best ever.  And what an entertainer!  Larger than life was never more apt.....

Somewhat worried about the George Polley Ford Anglia Hot Rod.   I  spent years going stock car, banger and Hot Rod racing, all over the place.  George was mega, and such a nice guy.  And what a driver!   But that Anglia most definitely needs to be a wide arch version.  The same as the Limited edition model  produced for #27 Martin Reynolds Historic race car.  Please Hornby Scalextric, if anyone reads this thread, on this excellent forum,  don't produce it as a narrow arch model, it will look completely wrong.  Plus with the magnet out it won't stand a chance.  If it has the correct  wide arch treatment, with wider wheels and tyres,  it might even be raceable.     Hopefully it's just the image which is incorrect,  not the model itself.

I also preferred the return of the proper January range launch, bravo all at Scalextric  Wavegreen

I hope Worthing will allow lightweight interior as BTCC BoP, or else I'm in trouble!
