Love the Cro-Sal special!
I did something similar a few years ago when I first got a Cheetah file. This looks quite smooth and well done.

For the Mirage family fans......
I don't own the file, I was just a beta tester.
But it compares well to the Scalextric original.

I love all of these! I just hope someone can help me make a Wartburg 1.3 or a proper street version of a Porsche 924 or Triumph Spitfire MKIV/1500 in 1/24 scale . . :-)
I have yet to find models for those. :-)

VW Kombi
Picked up a 1/32 scale die-cast VW camper van on holiday recently for 7 euros, and 3D scanned it. The resulting file is now the basis for a range of options
Camper scan
Van version
High back transporter and cab
LWB slope back Transporter print
Plenty of variations to play with.
Cheers

Have you tried resclaing a scanned model?
Say 1/18 to/24 or 1/32 to 1/43 ?

dvd3500,
Yes you can rescale a CAD file up or down to different scales using the CAD software, the work involved depends on the original file, the re-scale factor plus the final use of show or go.

You can even scale the three different dimensions to suit, longer/shorter, wider/narrower, taller/shorter.
...wall thickness changes with scale so you have to take that into consideration

dvd3500,
Would suggest you have a Net trawl using the extension STL file i.e.
Porsche 924 STL file
this yields several options ranging from a few pounds to £50 plus for a fully rendered file.
Otherwise you can try scale model & 3dp forums where you could put requests onto, as there are many gifted designers that can draw these shells from scratch, derive them from computer games or scan from models and there maybe files out there not published that you could use or someone could adapt for you. Bearing in mind this option may be the most costly or maybe if you are lucky enough find someone who is interested in these shells and will do it for their own use.
Cheers
