3DP body shell addiction
#1

Thought I would create a new thread titled 3D printed bodyshell addiction, so those of us that dabble can show their pending tray or those shells that have been sitting on the shelf vainly waiting their turn to be utilised. All posts should feature unfinished i.e. either bare or primer shells.

Some, not all of my shelf/pending tray going back two plus years.

Nine of the shells are modified from 3rd party downloads the rest are home brew creations either from scans and modified in or created from scratch in CAD (F1s, RAID Truck, CAN AMs, Group5’s, Mini’s and a kit car).

Cheers
John

Hi.  I am Chappyman66.
I have a problem.  I am a printaholic.  It's been 3 days since my last print.

Of the bodies shown, I have built two.   The rest are still waiting.  And those are mostly from 2+ years ago.

I haven't shown the two literal piles of shells plus the couple on the table right now.  Some are painted, but that's as far as they got......

Here's some of my 3D bodyshell 'collection'...some are files I've modified, some of these are probably 2 years old now.

All resin prints.

Blue one is a Buick Wildcat.
There's an Impala, Ford Falcon Sprint, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari California, Triumph Dolomite Sprint, VW Golf GTi mk2, Mini Sprints, Lotus Esprit, Chevy Camaro Z28 mk2 and an Auto Union D-type

...and a tiny Peel P50

Remembered these too...

Porsche 908/3, Hoonicorn Mustang, Ferrari 612P and a Volvo 850 T5R estate

Nice looking bodies fellas.

It's probably a good thing that I don't own a 3D printer (yet). I told myself that I would not buy one until I complete the 80 or 85 cars waiting to built. Should be any day now.  Thumbup

Meanwhile, the equipment and materials are getting better all the time.

I thought about laying out my pile of bodies .....

And then decided that might not be a wise decision from a marital perspective.
Or do I live dangerously????

This is one pile:

There are a couple in there that are not printed (the Carrera Monza and an Artin Mercedes tail is showing) but most of that is printed bodies.

Two more prints on the to do list, Mercedes 300SLS and MGB GT. The 300SLS was created by scanning a die cast toy, and then using Blender to clean up the image, the MGB GT was a downloaded file of the road car modified into a race version.

TBH I'd try again but this time print it standing vertically on it's back end at 0.1mm layers, yes the back end will need a bit of a tidy but the rest will be much better Thumbup
