Nothing personal, I just felt the car was mostly a standard Slot it and the N22 Tyres was an unusual choice which I think is not particularly a popular tyre choice ??

I was pleasantly surprised as well! I worked hard on shaping the rubber, and then these cars are also the first to benefit (?) from the use of my tyre balancer...

I just enjoyed watching those.

One thing that has become blindingly obvious is the overall quality of car builds seems dramatically improved for this proxy.

Demon Tweeks was Le Manx, also was one of the DeadHeads crew.

So there we have it the cars are seeded within each Group.

Qualifying Review - Surprises Galore !
General
So with the prospect of penalties averted (many thanks to Mike 174, Steve Ruscillo and BAracer for going that extra mile), I was able to get on with the testing.
Initially this was designed with the GT Revoslots in mind, so it kind of dictated the structure of the proxy.
I had hoped for more Revo's and perhaps on reflection I should have made it a 2 car class proxy with just Revo's & open class. Perhaps that would have encouraged more entries of the former type ??
However in a way I kind of began to like the idea of running the cars as Construction type Groups, as it should be more consistent for the host drivers to run all the cars of a similar construction together. Something perhaps to use in the future.

I think in general most of the cars were of a high quality build and therefore the cars will be racing closely together.

Modified Standard Group
Most of the cars ran very well, ModSports BMW V12 LMP seemed exceptionally quick at 7.59 secs, in fact the 2nd fastest car of the entire proxy on my track.
But in general the average time was  8.4 secs with a variance of 0.3 sec which I would think is to be expected, but that also includes the rather much slower Bangers Racing Marcos which was almost a sec slower than everyone else. As I like to think about about what I would have done better, perhaps making the Modified Standard Class of cars a little more standard (motor range) might be an improvement for the future ?

Revoslots
I was surprised with these results, I kind of expected perhaps more separation between the classes (GT1, GT2 & GP3), but again it does show that given the exact same tools to work with how much variation you can get. OXO Cube, Brumos RSR & Team ALS obviously have learned quite a lot  from previous Revoslot US based competitions  Sun
So perhaps the rest of us could do with a few tips, especially in my case ?? However Oxo Cube forgot to tighten up his Supra motor screws, and my Marcos was quite underwhelming compared to the rest of the field, I thought beforehand it was a quite a little rocket  Rofl
The average was 8.3 secs with a 0.06 sec variance, pretty close I think

ProCars
Here we had SURPRISES everywhere, this was much closer than I had imagined with 20 cars competing, average 8.05 secs and variance of 0.08 secs. Of course we might have expected another flying car from Demon Tweeks (alias LeManx) with the B&W Chassis but Equipe Trelawneys similar car not so fast here.
Out of the blue the Jaguar XJR9 of BatManx also was a flyer, I did not feel this was going to be the case having already run similar cars, and the same with BAracer Mclaren F1 GTR, I would not put money on those as high flyers, if asks beforehand. They will no doubt be competing regularly with the Corvette C6R of Sam D & the Lamborghini Murcielago of Demon Tweeks.....and the many others.

So well done to everyone, it will be a superb proxy competition.....and the 1st actual race starts on Friday at the Wirral Club.
I will be there to participate and video the proceedings which will be 4 lane race style.

Nice overview there Graham.

That Ninco BMW V12 of mine was a real banger, I never drove it and wasn't expecting much from it to be honest, but it goes better than I could have dreamed of and actually made me look at my other cars and completely changed how I set cars up now.

Pretty close across the builds, indeed!  Glad the Texas Viper made it there in one piece and ran respectable laps. I’ll be interested to see how my choice of tire compound (G25) does on the various surfaces. Seemed it may have made the car a bit tail happy on the Carrera track?

I love the look of the Slot.it Mclaren F1 GTR... it's long, low and wide, but it hasn't half taken some time to unlock it's potential. And following your observation on the video, I think I might have put a Slot.it 23k motor in it as opposed to the stated Scaleauto 20k.

Yes the Carrera track is quite hard and smooth, I think the nearest plastic track type to wood, so I don’t think the G25 tyres particularly have an advantage here. There are 2 Policar Rounds and a Ninco track Round which tend to have more grip or some flexibility, so maybe better there.

The arrival was just in time, directly from the box onto the track within an hour

I think the motor looks more like the standard Slot it 23k S-Can, goes quicker than I would expect for a Tech 1 20k motor

Just before we start the First Round at the Wirral Club, I selected some cars for the Concorse award.

REVOSLOT SPIRIT OF THE PROXY AWARD
As this was a Revoslot inspired proxy, I decided to only include the self decorated Revoslot cars in this competition.
There was a couple of cars which were not Revoslots and technically could have been selected, but both these cars looked like they had not been specially decorated for this event

So the chosen cars are:
Oxo Cube - Toyota Supra

Oxo Cube - Mercedes CLK GTR

Makem - Mclaren GTR

Makem - Ferrari 333SP

Brumos RSR - Ferrari 333SP
[attachment=40383]

Paint Horse One - Dodge Viper

I will be taking a census of the hosts running the proxy as which of the cars above should be selected for the George Turner Models Award.
