Rules Clarification
I just noticed a possible issue which may have been misunderstood.
B&W or steel chassis constructed cars are only permitted in Group 2 Class D cars.
So if your entering an early 50’s car with metal chassis it will be registered as a Group 2 Class D entry.

Basically we don't get many "B&W or steel chassis" entry cars, so these similar chassis cars will be raced together in Group 2 Class D. The other Group 1 & 3 cars are for plastic/resin based chassis only.

I have clarified the rules in the leading page.

In Group 1....If I have a resin cast body with a 3D printed chassis then it does not qualify for either group A or B as I read it. Is that intended? Many of the 50's bodies on the list will be cast resin if available and the easiest method to scratch build will be a 3D printed chassis as B&W is excluded.

Yes now I look at it again it does sound ambiguous, it was meant to imply that 3d chassis can be used (ie plastic chassis) for for Resin/fiberglass Cast models in Class A. 
But I agree it does not mention specifically 3d chassis (as in the other classes which refers to them)  But I wanted to differentiate models which might have a performance advantage (chassis type) over a straight forward fixed resin or RTR chassis type.  

So in that case I will re-write the definitions for Class A & Class B.

Further Rules Clarification -regarding Class definitions
Group 1
A) Modified Standard class for moulded plastic, resin, fibreglass or 3d printed body models with fixed motor mounts and resin, plastic, universal or 3d printed chassis.
B) Procar class for moulded plastic resin, fibreglass or 3d printed body models with adjustable motor mounts and plastic, universal, or 3d printed chassis (no metal chassis)


Group 2
C)  Modified Standard Class for plastic, resin, fibreglass moulded or 3d printed body with fixed motor mount, and plastic, 3d printed,Universal, PP or Revoslot chassis.
D)  Procar Class for plastic, Resin, fibre moulded or 3d printed body with with adjustable motor mounts and plastic, universal, 3d printed, B&W or steel chassis.


Group 3
E) Modified Standard Class for plastic, resin, fibreglass moulded or 3d printed body models with fixed motor mount, universal, 3d printed or plastic chassis.
FProcar class for moulded plastic, resin, fibreglass or 3d printed body with, adjustable motor mounts, universal or 3d chassis (no metal chassis)



I think this reads better and is more or less consistent across the 3 Groups (apart from the metal chassis exclusions for Group 1 & 3)

“Area 71 slot car kits” are a special category, as they are based on extremely lightweight 3d printed bodies. So are not typical of most 3d generated products available (as far as I have seen). And are not comparative to other types of plastic or resin moulded bodies.

In the Technical Rules there is an additional paragraph within the Classes definitions Notes:which states that Area71 printed bodies must be fitted with the Area71 chassis.

I have ordered a Area TA71 Ferrari Dino 246 to see how it runs on my rally style tracks, which should be interesting.

I resin 3D printed a 246GT so it'll be interesting to see the weight differences.

I just checked and the bare bodyshell weighs 15.8g, it's printed to scale and been sat on my shelf with a chassis I also designed and printed.

The reason I never finished it was the complicated rear window I couldn't gee myself up to make.
