If it’s the current Scalextric slimline std motor it is classified as a 18k rpm motor, and hence a Class A motor. As it stands any other Scalextric ( green or red) slimline motor with a higher rpm is classified as a Class B/C motor depending on whether it is fitted into a Class B car ( modified or scratchbuild), or even a Class C car ( ProCar), which I guess is less likely, but possible.

Good Morning
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT- FINAL RULE CHANGE
I have simplified the dimensional requirements having taken the idea from another Proxy, so that specified individual Event wheel diameters rules are removed but replaced with a statement that all 4 wheels and tyres must have the same diameter (+/-1mm)
Additionally as another concession to the U2.0L historic cars, I am allowing the same rear tyre width of 10mm across all events irrespective if they are under or over 2 litre models, it is not to historical scale, but at the end of the day it makes for a more even playing field across the 4 events and might attract more entrants to enter cars they might have stayed clear of previously.
Finally also taken from the "other proxy" inspired change to simplify the rules, I have directly specified the penalties which will be applied to each race, as I been really generous on the Dimensional aspects, any infringements will be vigorously applied - you have been warned.
Here is the revised rules (also replaced on the leading page)

I have added a request to cover body to chassis screws please in the rules under advisory.
Advisory
Guide blades should be maximum 7mm Flag depth (without braids), max thickness 1.6mm, and max length 20mm.
Please ensure that body to chassis fixing crews are covered with tape or Bluetack.

Good afternoon,
A request has been raised to permit the new SRC BMW 2800 CS into the "Touring cars Slotting" Proxy.
Technically it does not appear to have been run in the actual British Touring Car Championship, but was a popular competitor in the European Touring Car Championship racing along with the Ford Capris and is a 4 seater Saloon.
So I have added it to the Event 2 "Grand Touring" class list of cars by invitation.
I think also it will be fun to see how the BMW 2800 CS does run in comparison with the inevitable SRC Ford Capri entries as a Class C car.
Graham
I'm struggling to find cars in my collection to enter, but the above suggests my SRC Capri 2600 Jackie Stewart car might be suitable? 18k SW motor in a non-podded chassis. Is this a goer?
I love puttering with gears

Had me worried then, and at first I struggled to find the 2.6 litre Capri in the British Touring car championship, but it is there raced at Thruxton 1973.
So I think the Ford Capri 1600 RS in my list is actually an error, and should be 2600 RS. Mostly 3 liter Capris seemed to have been run in the UK
Therefore I need to correct the list and your SRC version is OK. I thought you might run your Astra again in the modern Touring cars.

Thanks for investigating Graham, looking forward to fettling the Capri.
I think the modified Astra was a flawed concept...too powerful a motor in a 'home' chassis. But it might be worth another try with a different power plant.

I think the Astra was not competitive against the other Le Mans GT and prototype cars, but running against other touring cars might not do so bad .

Morning all
Just a point on engine clarification looking at the list of eligible motors .. you have the baby raptor 17k orange listed twice?
Was your intentions to list the black sideways motor 2140k ?
https://www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/spare...l?___SID=U
I have a few of these and was thinking of using ? If that’s your intention to include it in the list?
Cheers Graham ?

In truth it was an error as I have not tested the black 21.5k rpm motor, but why not as it is within the Max 23k rpm ceiling.
I have not noticed it on their list previously, but I will order one from Pendle to evaluate.
