6mm guide depth maximum
is this the depth of the guide flag (out of the packet / trimmed ) without braid ?
or 6mm from underside of braid to bottom of guide ?
and after my latest American proxy track clearance episode , can we be clear on what exactly will be an infringement please Graham ( gears . motor . adjustable axle screws etc )
front wheels / tyres , touching track or not ?
so we will have 4x proxy rally events through out the year with 3x classes in each event ?
think thats it
Kev
Hi Kev,
just caught up with your posting, depth of guide flag is without braids - i will clarify that in the rules. The Rally tracks often use Classic Scalextric/SCX shallow track guide rail.
The Event Clearance rule is specifically to avoid beeching and excessive motor magnatraction advantage on plastic tracks. So I will be checking with a plastic rod guage that both the motor and chassis is is clear by 1.5mm of the track surface.

Is it worth adding policar to class A for this one, they have an impreza that is probably no better than the other rtr cars and rally ready?
I thought event 2 was going to be Group B rally cars but the list of eligible cars is much smaller?
Event 4 is it any 'rally' car as per eligibility or any WRC car as per title of event - very different things as anyone who enters an nsr asv as a rally car will know
Thanks
Ash
Some very good points there,
Yes I will add Policar to Class A Cars
The Group B cars are the only ones I could find listed, from the source I was using eWRC-results.com - rally database
So if you have others I can check out, let me know ?
Yes my intention is for Event 4 to be for WRC cars only not any Rally car, so I will change that.
Thanks Graham, ford rs200 was the one that jumped out to me but I guess anything that was actually homologated for group b
https://www.google.com/amp/s/rallygroupb...ist/%3famp
yes the Ford RS200 should be included and I will add this one, but as it says in the article only a handful of the cars which were homologated actually were run as Group B cars.
The Ferrari 308 is one which ran as a Group 4 car but not as a Group B ( according to what I have read)
But tomorrow I will go through the list to see if they are not already included in Event 3 Cars

I will also transfer the Ferrari 308 and BMW M1 over from Event 3 as well, as we need to increase the choice in Event 2,
As a bonus I will attempt a list of WRC cars for Event 4 (as I have the time at the moment)

Couple of questions for clarity?
CBdesign wheels say a steel wheel, 5 spoke or Staffs wheels say a minilite are illegal?
will I be competing against myself with a 911S and a Hillman Imp?
Or would the Imp be Event 1 the Porsche Event 3?

CB Design might be right on the issue of wheel insert design, I am no expert. But I will be satisfied with 4 matching wheel inserts which look right. So no penalties for having the incorrect wheel insert. Our team of "concourse" judges might of course mark you down on that issue in regards to the "Best Presented Car" award
Hillman Imp is a Event 1 car
Porsche 911S an Event 3 car
But there are
no METAL chassis allowed on this event, as we expect to be using "proper" Rally track type circuits for most of the Rounds and with the relative low track clearance, there could be a high possibility of the chassis shorting out the track or someones controller.

Graham,
Do I read it right, that only hard plastic bodies are allowed, so no resin or fibreglass?

That's a good point, Resin or Fibreglass to me is a hard plastic. But I will expand the definition in the rules to make it clear.

I don't know why you've stipulated a guide depth rule, a guidance size is all that's required, if you decide to enter a car with a deep guide it wont get round some plastic track which is punishment enough. A piece of Scaley track is all you need to make sure your car won't have problems, there's a straight section sits on the floor next to my workbench and get's used to check my cars every time we're going to drive on plastic track.

Good Morning
I had a rethink this morning and decided I will specify which Class of Cars can enter each event, as it is important to get this right at an early stage in order to offer a close racing Proxy event to the best on my ability.
So that the format now says
Each Event will have its Event winner which could be from any of the Car Classes permitted, and each of the permitted car Classes would qualify for an award for Class fastest Car in an Event (unless it is the Event winner of course)
And the Rules have been altered accordingly as below
Transferred to Rally Cars Slotting thread
And I have altered and added to the Car lists as below
Event 1
Transferred to Rally Cars Slotting thread
Event 2

Event 3

Event 4
