There's not been much build up - although we've had a preview on the SlotRacer homepage all week - but this weekend sees the return of the UK Slot Car Festival at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon.
As we're still not quite 'post-pandemic', it won't be quite the same - some exhibitors won't be there and a few regular visitors may be giving the weekend a miss too. It has been quite hard to pin down exactly what the line-up for the weekend will be. Jason and I pulled together a few hints and guesses for the homepage article - and there's been a bit more on people's social media feeds this week... but nothing official.
- There are rumours that Fly will be there - and with a special car with UKSF branded packaging. But whether that just means Fly are shipping stuff over for their distributor to show, who knows?
- Sadly George Turner won't be at Gaydon. He has some great new products that we'll showcase at SlotRacer - just a shame people won't be able to enjoy a good natter with George over the weekend.
- Steve from Staffs Slot Cars will be there Saturday - and I'll be posting up pictures that he's send me of some new Teamslot cars, plus some Staffs wheels.
- There will be plenty of tracks of various scales - but no news on any competitions this time.
- And the Scalextric Family Funday remains a mystery.
And then there's the museum too...
And if you want to see more of what to expect, don't forget our SlotRacer preview: https://slotracer.online/
If you are going, a request from us at SlotRacer Online... It would be brilliant if you could share any news, images or video clips here on the forum, so those of us who aren't able to go can have a look.
And if you aren't going, but want to get in the slot car festival vibe, why not go for a stroll down Slotcar Alley: https://slotracer.online/slotcar-alley/
