 Hi Folks, looks like the Scrutineer report will have to wait until tomorrow as the one last Team cars have not materialised as expected. Hopefully tomorrow.

I am hoping to get to run all the cars on Friday (without timer) as a test drive around the raceway and "Check on those lights" This will determine if the car qualifies for full or half points on the dusk runs of the series. I also hope to try a photo shoot for each teams cars as is traditional, remember there is a "Concours" aspect to this event for best looking car" I am cleaning up the track tomorrow, and polishing those contact rails ready for action on Saturday. I am intending to run the daylight sequence in the opposite direction I normally run the track, and then late afternoon on Sunday go for the dusk run running in the normal direction I would run in.

I will hope to get some photos along the way, no live streaming this time as I am intending to move my track house after this event, but hopefully when the track is in a more permanent location I will look to fix some cameras up in time for for next years Spring proxy. 

Whilst we been waiting today I have changed "Stirling Moss" chassis on his Aston Martin DB1/2 and also found that his front lights had failed, so had to fit a new set  in. And finally I gave the car a coat of varnish on the bodywork.

 Hi Folks, Hooray the postie just delivered the last Teams cars.

So to the Scrutineer Reports

First the easy one- Class A Modern GT's standard cars

   

All met the requirements, only one needed a a magnet removal.

Some people might raise an eyebrow on the Maserati MC12 as it was not in the car list I posted for class A cars and technically it was not allowed in real life to enter the European Le Mans due to its long length being outside the rules. It was allowed to run in the Le Mans equivalent races in the USA. And as the car meets the rules maximum width requirements I am happy to allow this car into our event.

And so for Class B - Modern Prototypes etc

   

Again reasonably straightforward, there was a couple of motors without manufactures markings or wrappers which was stated in the rules as being a requirement. But unless these show some obvious advantage over the rest of the field I am not dully concerned.

Additionally a couple of teams might find their car bodies have gained a gram or two (which I have added) in order to comply with the minimum % ratio

Nothing much to criticise here, maybe one marginally over width.

I run out of time yesterday as I went to my local slot club, but here is the Scrutineer report for Class D


   

As you can see there is abit of an anomaly in this class, as the motor specs for sidewinders seems to have stretched abit, there are 3 cars with Slot it 23k rpm motors (Max was 21.5), but  also there are 3 cars with NSR 21.5K rpm motors (actually rated in small print as 21.9 k rpm motors).

In effect and based on previous experience with the Road Race etc, I do not believe this constitutes an unfair advantage, and maybe I should have taken the slot it standard motors more into account when I wrote the rules for this particular class. So although I notified the Teams running these cars that there is a technical  infringement of the rules they will be run without any penalties, as long as there is no clear unfair advantage shown as the series progresses.

With that said we will move onto lights

 LIGHTS ARE ON 

Well that was the theme and I am very happy with the response, I know that some tried and failed and others just ran out of time. But overall most of the cars were fitted with lights and I am pleased to say they are all still working 

Class A cars naturally came all fitted with lights, and apart from one which needed abit of light maintenance they are all still working.

Class B cars
   

Class C cars

   

Class D cars
   


Le Mans Series points
As previously described there will however be a difference between the value of the points allocated to the finishing positions of the cars at each separate Le Mans event depending on the cars running during the "Dusk" sessions have lights fitted or not.

So the points system will simple be for positions 1st to 8th for all the cars during the daytime session 8 points for 1st, 7 points for 2nd etc, classes with more than 8 cars entered will have the minimum of 1 point for the additional positions 9-10, or 9-12.

For the dusk sessions the points will be allocated again as described above for cars with lights, but only half the points for cars without lights fitted. So a car without lights ending the dusk session in 1st position will only be allocated 4 points, 2nd position will get 3.5 points etc.

It is the points that will determine the winning cars for each class and overall winning Team of the Le Mans competition.

Good evening,

I was prompted by one of the Class D Ford GT40's entrants to research the issue of the motors fitted to their slot it cars again, and as a result of this I can confirm that all the 3 cars listed do in fact have the slot it v12/3 (RED) 21.5 k rpm motor fitted and not the slot it x12/4 (ORANGE) 23 k rpm motor as listed.

So I am thankful for the entrants challenge which his resolved the anomaly in class D, and I apologize to the entrants who/s cars were incorrectly criticised.
