Jeremy,
Let's put it like this-  "Requires further tuning"

The sc30 motor was pretty impressive and is a good match to the power and speed of an NSR King30.
However, that SC30 motor would be totally unsuitable for a proxy.

The TR7 turned out to be a little tippy,
Clearly the narrow width and slightly tall rear stance is going to take some work.
Fatter front tyres required i think. The tripod approach just won' t work.

I also got one straight line high speed  "WTF?" Deslot so my  braid preparation must have been a little lacking .

Unlikely that this will ever displace my Ice-Aston (nsr asv) as my top rally car but might yet be workable as a rally classic (70s) car.
Alan

Ps
Yes,yes, yes, I know many don't  think the ASV is a rally car, but at LSC it is allowed, so I'm using it!

Jeremy,

Your car sits absolutely perfect. Looks great!  Thumbup

Had to narrow both the front and rear tracks to fit the tyres inside the wheel arches to get the ride height I was looking for.

Vacform interior and screen fitted like a glove, nice one Angelo!

Say your car on the World Wide Chat this week. Based on my memories of the 1:1 car, and how I want the car to look (I know...I know...) I have set my wheels inside the arches to get the body down as low as possible...

So it is what it is, and this will just have to be my starting point.

Was going to put a Scaleauto 18k Baby Sprinter in it, but having seen yours, now I'm thinking maybe I have found a home for my Pro-Slot PS4001 37k S-can...

I'm thinking I will be going for an SRC spung guide, a couple of drivers heads from some abandoned GT3 interiors, I have one spare crown gear in my box (possibly a 29t) and I should have a pinion gear to suit that will get the car up and running for testing purposes.

For me, the hardest part is working out how to attach the body to the chassis using the Amato kit of parts provided...

Maybe Minilite inserts or rims would look even better for your TR7.

Just using what I have in my box for starters. But looking at them again, I think they have a certain plastic charm that matches the detailing of the body

But I will check what Tony Pond used!

It occured to me just now whilst gardening, that by adding a comment to this thread, you have, in effect, entered into this TR7 Revival Event (in association with SlotRacer.Online). One option would be to refurb a TR7, the other one would be to help us find a track to run all the cars on in order to pick some sort of winner. Nothing special, maybe something based on the RAC Rally, perhaps with a small hamlet and some loops through narrow hedged country lanes.

Any ideas welcome...
