Morning all

Finally, the last of my old childhood cars are trackworthy??

After an early start on a rare day off work without my little boy being here the new chassis, axles, wheels, motor and wiring have finally been installed in the TR7

I bought several sets of wheels I thought would suit but eventually ended up with a set from a BMW Italian job Mini (dodgy eBay purchase).
Rear axle has been extended to increase the rear track and although the wheels stick out a bit, I think it looks ok.

Goes like stink on the small oval I ran it on.

Thanks to John May for the chassis, it fits perfectly and really improves the aesthetics (ie it doesn’t look like a pick up truck?)

Definitively the worst looking and worst driving scaley model I ever had as a kid. 
Jacked up like a truck, rolled over at the first sight of a corner.
Xmas 1973, probably. 
I'm quite surprised that I even still have this model it was so bad.
Part of a pair which included a capri (which did work better but is totally unsuitable for a modern upgrade because it is so narrow)

Why oh why did I have to chip into this thread?
Making "dogs and lemons" into competitive slot cars is painful.
I may be able to put lipstick on this pig  but it will still be a pig.

Let's see if there is enough interest to have proxy rally class of suitable for these at some point.
I wonder what some of the proxy event organisers think?

Either an HRS2 or a 3d chassis would be  my plan.
All of the windows are yellowed and fragile

TR7 is missing from my collection of Triumphs... If someone has one in half way decent condition let me know...

It did come with a Capri, still have that and have lowered that a little by sanding away the bit of chassis that holds the guide, just to make it look less like a dog dragging its bum along the floor??

The TR7 was a car I remember not liking that much when I was a lot younger as it seemed huge compared to the Capri.

It still looks out of scale but at least it goes around corners now?

Started looking at the tr7 yesterday. 
Very few redeeming features as a candidate for a refurb. 

Short wheelbase.
Spoiler would get in the way of a modern forward guide placement 
No body posts
Rear detail is part of the chassis 
Wheels have no detail. Not even worth saving for cutting into inserts.
Bodywork side window detail makes the sidelight strut look like a roof support upright.
Cringeworthy paintwork.

However, i'm never one to shy away from a challenge.
Now...

Where will I find the right wheels?
