Ah... that sort of makes sense. My hunch is that you need to swap the red and white wires (red & yellow banana plugs) round.
That’s from comparing the two BSCRA diagrams and Alan’s Slot.it one.
I shall be keeping an eye and ear out towards Eastbourne for a either a loud band / bright flash or scenes of wild celebration...

Just two things to check: what brand is the 3-to-1 adapter? And can you just check the jack on your Scalextric controller has three bands (ie is a stereo jack).

Going back to this pic...
I’d expect to get full power on zero trigger movement if the wiper and full power were wrongly attached to wiper and brake (doesn’t matter which way round).
You’re getting that when black is connected to black and white is connected to white - and when you hooked up all 3, but swapped red to white. So my hunch should have worked, but didn't... So maybe it's red and black we should have swapped?
