DS hand controller
#1

Hello  Wavegreen

Can anyone give any advice or help please.

On my two four lane tracks we use the DS hand controllers, V2, at 45 ohm.  These have proved very good and reliable,  so far....

One of the controllers has lost its braking effect.   Release the trigger and the car keeps on running, instead of stopping almost immediately as usual. Not a sticking trigger, just no braking effect.

I have the swapped the controller to each of the 4 lanes, and it is definitely the controller.
All lanes work fine with any of the other 3 controllers,  and I have tried various cars.

Any ideas as to what has happened, or advice on possible fixes great fully accepted  Thumbup

Thanks,
Pip

Lots of potential reasons for brake failure.
The most likely is that the red cable the goes to the centre pin of your bs546 plug is broken or disconnected.

The braking works by connecting the red to the black when you release the throttle.
Test whether the brake circuit using an ohm meter

Thank you Alan  Thumbup

I thought that the red wire was the breaks, but this isn't my strong point!
The diagram is very helpful,  will have a look and see what I can find.

Thanks again,
Pip
