What's in the 2021 Scalextric catalogue?

Awesome job Andy!
That is definitely the best way to check out the 2021 Scalextric releases.
You do it better than Hornby
As a fan of 60's/70's/80's racing, plus modern GT3 ( our main club class) that is me well and truly sorted for the year
Huge thanks for all the time you put into today, and all your other posts...

The 70-80s F1 cars are not DPR - they are just too small and detailed to do it without creating odd lumps and bumps in the model - even with the F1 C8516 plug. Some of the F1 cars are fiddly to convert with the C7005 retro fit chip, but none are impossible. And there are newer, smaller chips arriving - the Slot.it Type C is SSD compatible and both Scorpius and Dr_C have posted plans in our SlotRacer Digital Racing section here.
To be honest, it’s one of the delights of ARC Pro - I run the delicate, difficult-to-chip stuff in analogue mode.

Thank you Scalextric for being so unpredictable.
Have been working on a KITT, getting the scanning lights to look reasonably OK but can now recycle that project and wait for the new release.
On the other hand the Lotus Esprit is inspiring me to produce the ski-carrying version that James used in "For Your Eyes Only". This would be a nice addition to my Bond Collection and use a snow scene that I am currently working on for another project.
Of course, maybe I should wait until Scalextric do it??

That's a cool KITT Leo
Anyone with at least $975,000 can bid on the real thing: https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a35128...-for-sale/
And David Hasslehoff will deliver it you himself. I think I'll stick with the Scalextric version.

Excellent report Andy, thanks very much.
I see four cars with tobacco sponsorship in there - JPS and Camel Lotus; Bastos Camaro and Marlboro BMW. Are Scalextric really going to use the authentic liveries? If so perhaps they would care to add the Marlboro logos to the re-released McLaren M23.

Oh dear!!
A cider fuelled shopping session last night resulted in the XJS Police car, KITT, Orange Porsche and Gulf VW buss being added to my small collection (when they're released)
I have no idea how I'm gonna hide those!!

Brian - yep, that's something Scalextric said a couple of years ago - that they would use the authentic cigarette and alcohol sponsors on classic cars, depending on licensing arrangements with the car manufacturer, the sponsor and whoever else has to be involved in these often complex negotiations.
The situation with the M23 is that McLaren don't allow any cigarette sponsorship on models of their cars.
Yes, some smaller manufacturers completely ignore licensing issues, but Hornby play by the book. I understand that some of the most laborious licensing negotiations in the 2021 catalogue involved the tiny Martini logos on the roundels of the 1973 Spa 24 hour cars. Martini are tough cookies, but the Scalextric team wanted the cars to look right.

I don't buy many RTR cars. So I'm looking through the list of cars going "That's nice. Oh and that's nice too. Those look nice also..."
And then I heard the angels start to sing...
I had a very similar Z28. Also silver, but without the yellow and orange stripes.
At least I have until summer. I can already start looking for pennies in the sofa.
Thanks again, Andy.
