Good afternoon,
on a day of "Crowning the King" the overall results are beginning to look like we also have a "king proxy slotracer" to crown very soon, or will there be a change on the last two Rounds at the last minute.......... The latest results have been uploaded onto the database.
However many thanks to Kevin for another varied mixture of Rally Stages, I though perhaps this Round had been the most diverse of all of them, but the stats seem to point towards this Round being more so in favour of the less powerful Event 4 cars.
Pitlane Review (Rounds 1-8)
In general the 15th Stage seemed to be a fast sprint run for the faster cars, but being a "Tarmac stage" was limited on run time. The 16th Stage was the last of the home track based Rally stages which again tripped up the cars with the deeper guides, and seemed to favour the more standard models.
Monte Carlo (Event 1)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
ManxAndy ManxKev RoadRunners
Jaguar XK120 Jaguar XK120 Jaguar XK120
Although there was a hint of hesitation by the leading Jaguar of ManxAndy, the trio of Jags seem to have established a pecking order of sorts.
Rally B Cars (Event 2)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
Bangers Racing Green Star Racing Harrisons Racers
Metro 6R4 De Tomaso Lancia 037
Again the Metro 6R4 of Bangers Racing did not look so happy on this Round, but still has a substantial lead, ahead of Green Star Racings De Tomaso and the Lancia 037 of Harrisons Racers who are within a cats whisker of each other. Kevin managed to get the Audi Quattro of Ruscillo Racing running again, although sadly not quick enough it seems to cause the others in this group any concern.
Rally Legends (Event 3)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
RoadRunners Savage GT BARacer
Fiat 131 Abarth Porsche 914/6 Triumph TR7
I keep on having to pinch myself every time the RoadRunners Fiat 131 gets onto the Podium, and it's still the fastest running car overall after all these stages
However the Porsche 914/6 of Savage GT is still not so far behind, (or not far enough) bearing in mind that the last two Rounds I think should favour the Porsche.
Similarly the TR7 of BARacer has done really well to date holding off the other Porsche's for 3rd position.....but will it last
WRC Modern (Event 4)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
Ruscillo Racing Bangers Racing Woodcote Racing
Citroen C4 Citroen Saxo Subaru
Another close race between the top 3 cars, the Saxo of Bangers Racing slipped a little on this Round, but back on the wood tracks can be expected to be much faster again. Woodcote's Subaru had another great run on this Round and may also be in the final mix for the top position.
Class A (Standard RTR cars)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
Scott Sports Harrisons Racers Team Alaric
Renault Clio Lancia 037 Subaru
Scott Sports Renault Clio still looking comfortably ahead of the rest of the class cars, but 2nd and 3rd place cars could close the gap on the remaining Rounds.
Class B (Modified & Scratch builds)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
RoadRunners Ruscillo Racing Bangers Racing
Fiat 131 Abarth Citroen C4 Citroen Saxo
Very closely contested Class, the RoadRunners Fiat will do well to keep ahead on the closing Rounds.
Class C (ProCars)
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
Savage GT Green Star Racing ManxAndy
Porsche 914/6 De Tomaso Jaguar XK120
The BMW M1 of Savage GT looks comfortably ahead of the others in this class.
Team Award
1st Place - Bangers Racing
2nd Place - Savage GT
3rd Place - RoadRunners & Harrisons Racers
Both Bangers Racing and Savage GT lost some ground with both their cars on this last Round, with RoadRunners and Harrison Racers closing the gap.
Well hopefully we will see the cars next running up in the North East on the 15th May with our hosts from the NERCS club, although they will be using the tracks provided by the Tyne & Wear Club just up the Road where we will see a really great wood based Rally track and and a wood "Tarmac stage " wood track.
