Thunderslot Ford Mustang Trans-Am

The generally accepted principle is that low grip surfaces (plastics) require soft and flexible chassis whereas high grip require stiffer chassis.
I visited Luton Wood track recently and the experience of trying to drive a soft (blue) chassis suspension NSRMosler on wood seemed to reconfirm this.
Soft chassis suspension cars dig in, shudder and are hard to drive on wood tracks.

Suspension on our wood track is a retrograde step.  I have a Revo Nissan with 3D chassis, pod and rear suspension, it feels great on the bench but the suspension 'gives' in corners causing the rear to lose traction.  No doubt it would be fabulous on plastic track.

As far as stiff chassis is concerned, it's 100% more important the chassis is stiff front-to-rear, not necessarily down the centre but my NSR Mosler with original 'soft' chassis has piano wire superglued down either side of the chassis hole for the pod right up the the front axle line so it lies flat rather than a saggy belly and it's the lap record holder.  This car is the old Evo 3 with SW pod and Shark motor.

In fact I'd say a 'hard' plastic chassis doesn't seem to work as well as a braced 'soft' one as you still need torsional flex even with a pod.

We race non-mag with a strict mag effect limit of 25g.

I was all set to grab a couple of these, but now they have appeared for pre-order at my usual supplier, £87.95 is a little too steep for me.
Even with a nice 10% discount its to big of a chunk to swallow for me ATM.
One will have to wait for white kits, and even then I don't expect they will be much more than a tenner less.
Sorry TS, I am out :(

Just buy one then if the cost for two is too much.

At that price. I'll wait until they show up on the used market. Or, at least wait until it's my birthday.

Thanks for the update on the price.  Thumbup

The Mustang GT350 1/32 slot cars are nearly ready at the Thunderslot factory. Fingers are crossed that they arrive before Christmas
