Slot.it High Current Analogue Cartridge
#21

Is there an "Output" or "Load" button to press to turn on the output voltage? This is what mine is like - I can turn on or off the output

Don't think so, it's this little baby. Just a simple unit to power a test track.

Does the LED on the front of the power supply light up ?

Is there a fuse in the mains plug for the power supply

The fan comes on and the red led lights up on the front. I have not checked the fuse in the plug but took the previous observations as indicating there was power entering the box.

I'm not the most confident person when it comes to electrical matters, but the multimeter picked up the voltage on another power supply I have in the garage, so I don't think it is anything obvious that I am missing.

Anyway, it's packed up in a box and about to go off to Nelson for a replacement.

If pendle will let you upgrade, the PS 201 AJT is a better option.
Current limiter useful when truing tyres.
15amp output
double outputs useful for powering a car and controller a the same time.

I have one of these on its way from China for my Hudy.

All my little Fusion has to do is send 13.8v to my SCP and track...

I'm now wondering whether many of your unfathomable problems with SCP are down to the way you've described using your fusion 101 supply.

When I first started getting an Oxigen team together "Kessel Run" , I struggled getting the component  parts for home car (setup and testing) together.

I found that powering the controller from the same DC supply  leads (that feeds the car)  caused all kinds of problems. More problems than I can list.

I bought the 201ADJT and all ofthe issues went away.
I suspect that the 2 DC outputs for the 201 are separately regulated from the AC input so noise from the motor can't  impact the controller.

In my initial analogue setup experiments, the worst I think I might have done is send current the wrong way round the SCP. But depending on how I was configuring the 3 into 1 adapter, the Fusion was sending power to the track at that stage.

The metal cartridge wiring arrangement was 100% as per the yellow card diagram in the earlier post. But that was the last time I thought I had power coming out of the Fusion.

I never got round to setting up a full oXigen arrangement, but my intention was to use the Fusion to just power the SCP. The track would be powered by my Scalextric digital powerbase. I might get a second Fusion at some point to power the track with DC rather than the AC powerbase.

So I will shortly have a new Fusion, new SCP handle and a multimeter. And I think I will be referencing the yellow card diagram again to try and get that up and running before trying anything else.

Yeah, this is extremely confusing. Post a picture of the wired up power supplly and track and controller. A pic is worth a thousand words...

I will, and only when everyone tells me it's ok to switch the power on, will I switch the power on!

Replacement power supply should be here midweek.
