The real PVX 398K had an aluminium grille with black-looking cooling holes in it.
On the Scalextric version, the grille and cooling holes are both grey, with a layer or sheet of frosted plastic around both headlights. These areas look lighter than the grey of the grille.
Hannu Mikkola's Escort PVX 399K had the same grille as Timo Mäkinen's car, but the grille of Roger Clark's PVX 400K was painted matte black surrounded by an aluminium border.
