1/32 Chassis Jig

The way the pegs go into the locating holes is an absolute joy...zero slop, just a slow decent as the trapped air gets squeezed out around the sides.

And when you drop the axle between the pegs, the tolerance is such that it is held in place firmly, and yet you can lift it out without any effort.

Am I helping Savage GT?

Is it a marble base? If so very envious.

All PSC jigs are 1/2" Corian, and are CAD designed and CNC milled/drilled...................so, not marble, and therefore no need to be envious  Sun

(Marble is quite a good heat conductor, so, not the ideal material for soldering on).

PSC jigs are by far the preferred tool for most serious  slot racers, and come in a variety of designs to suit a wide variety of chassis designs in both 1/32 and 1/24 scale.

Cheers

PS I have no association with PSC products

Chris

I went on the PSC website and they do have an impressive range of build jigs and associated parts.

I had forgotten about the soldering aspect as my interests lie in the UK produced RTR cars (Scalextric and MRRC).

Just for the record, PSC quoted me $42 postage to the UK for the jig.

I know it's not nice to talk about money, but i thought that might be of interest.

I noticed his rather useful looking jig which he informed me is a "Precision Slot Cars" 1/32 scratch builder metric.
It also has some square  "set-up wheels" for axle heights.

After a quick google, they are an American company, and so importing to the UK is going to mean import duties and the post office fees (what a rip off that is !)

My question is, does anyone know of a UK importer of these, or does anyone in UK or Europe make the something similar ?
Hi Savage GT,
did you have any luck with finding a Precision Slot Car jig in Blighty?
I like you really like the different adjustments available on this one.
I contact Hobbies Plus in NZ and once I mentioned I'm in the UK they took them off their website and said they no longer do them, I asked if they didn't anything similar but they didn't reply. It's a shame as I could of got them to send it to my brother who lives in NZ and he could of sent it to me.
I've sent 3 emails to Dave at Precision Slot Cars, but saddly had no response.
It does state on his website he sends abroad.
If you managed to get one, I'd love to know if and where they're available from.
Cheers Tony

No, I wasn't prepared to pay the (then very pricey, no idea if better now) shipping + risk possible import fees.
Pity, I bet they would sell well over here.

Hello Kev, and all,............to be honest the jewellers block/pins is a far far better option than the Lucky Bobs' (LBJ) or the Jaxon jig listed above.

I have just done a quick search/made some calls  to all my usual "go to" shops  that have sold the PSC jigs, and all are out of stock, and have been for some time......my strong suspicion is that the 1/32 jigs are a thing of the past.

Of all the currently available jigs on the market (there are lots for 1/24) ,.....for 1/32 the "jewellers" option is by far the best, and, certainly the least expensive.

Cheers

Those 'Jewellers blocks' are just gas radiants, they're not made specifically for Jewellers but they do a pretty good job, I have one myself.

Life is like a box of Slot cars... Cool Drinkingcheers
