1/32 Chassis Jig - Savage GT - 20th-Jun-20

Rather than pollute Chrisguyw's thread further, I thought it best to start a new one.

I noticed his rather useful looking jig which he informed me is a "Precision Slot Cars" 1/32 scratch builder metric.
It also has some square  "set-up wheels" for axle heights.

After a quick google, they are an American company, and so importing to the UK is going to mean import duties and the post office fees (what a rip off that is !)

My question is, does anyone know of a UK importer of these, or does anyone in UK or Europe make the something similar ?

RE: 1/32 Chassis Jig - Anthony B - 20th-Jun-20

I bought one many years ago from AB slotsport - but it is not in the class of precision.

One other thing to note - USA increase the postage 100% - that right 100% - so be aware ,,,,,

Muriel at SCD may have some of the late Chas Keelings chassis jigs left. Scroll down following page to find it. Prices possibly out of date.

No jig wheels with this but Betta & Classic used to do blanks for their sponge tyre truer which would do the job. Can't now see these on their website but an email to Ian Fitzpatrick with the diameters you require may be worthwhile.

Thanks guys, I liked the Precision one has it looks to have plenty of adjustment.
The SCD while serving the same purpose, does not appear to have as much in the way of fine adjustment.
Thanks for the kind offer Steve, when normality has resumed I may take a closer look  Sun

Yes I had forgot about the US postage, is Trump trying to kill the USA's export business  ?
So a triple whammy for importing from the US then !

RE: 1/32 Chassis Jig - BAracer - 26th-Dec-21

I just received one of the PSC chassis jigs for Christmas. I bought it from Hobbies Plus in NZ. No import duties incurred, but the postage cost made up for that!

So overall, it came to the same price as one high performance slot car, and I suppose you have to decide if that represents good value for your needs.

Jeremy,

Congrats! It's a really nice jig.

Hopefully a friend for life, not just Christmas.

The way the pegs go into the locating holes is an absolute joy...zero slop, just a slow decent as the trapped air gets squeezed out around the sides.

And when you drop the axle between the pegs, the tolerance is such that it is held in place firmly, and yet you can lift it out without any effort.

Am I helping Savage GT?
