Global GT Challenge Proxy

Hi Graham,

Just to confirm our recent exchange of emails.
Having thoroughly enjoyed hosting the most recent round of the Goodwood Proxy, and being very impressed by the quality of the entries, I thought I should have a go at this next one as well!

So just to confirm my intended entries:

Type M - LMP - Fly TWR Joest Porsche WSC-95
Type P - Group C - MR Slot Car Mazda 787B.......I will replace the standard motor with a SRP 20K

If a third entry is permitted then I have a Fly Saleen body to scratch build a chassis for:
Type P - GT1 - Fly Saleen S7R

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Mark,
Great to see your post on here.
To answer your question yes there will be an option on the application form for a 3 car entry ( but they will be limited to a few) Based on a first declaration basis.

But as you mentioned “scratch building a chassis” the Events 1&2 are limited to either Revoslot Standard or Plastic chassis based cars. Only Event 3 is open to plastic, Revoslot and scratchbuild metal chassis constructed cars.

I've removed the Shark 21.5 EVO from my Audi DTM proxy entry and used that instead of the Shark 22.

Thanks Graham,

"“scratch building a chassis” the Events 1&2 are limited to either Revoslot Standard or Plastic chassis based cars. Only Event 3 is open to plastic, Revoslot and scratchbuild metal chassis constructed cars"

So the Saleen is not eligible for a scratch build chassis, but my Fly Panoz LMP1 will be?

Scratch building doesn't necessarily mean brass & wire.

Yes if the scratchbuild chassis is made of brass & wire, I have intentionally limited the use of these chassis to Event 3 (Group C & LMP)

Basically only motors which are currently commercially available to “everyone” should be allowed from now on.

OK, many thanks Graham.

So my entry will now be the following:

Type M - LMP - Fly TWR Joest Porsche WSC-95
Type P - Group C - MR Slot Car Mazda 787B.......I will replace the standard motor with a SRP 20K
Type P - LMP - Fly Panoz LMP1 body with scratch built chassis

Just added Clarification to the Technical Rules v5  regarding the "Chassis Class Designation for P Class cars" and the issue of the basis for Eligible Motor list.

1) Basically it is intended that any scratchbuild metal chassis cars only run in Event 3 (Group C & LMP)
2) And that all motors in the "Eligible Motor List" are current commercially available ones.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Now that we have a good understanding of the composition of the entry list, I have decided that since this competition is based on the 3 types of slot car construction it makes most sense for the cars to be run of each construction type together.
So we will run all the cars (GT1, GT2 & LMP/Group C) together within each of the 3 groups of cars:
Group 1 Revoslots
Group 2 Modified Standard
Group 3 Procars

The points will be awarded for each of the construction groups separately, and the amount of points will depend on the final number of cars actually entered for each Group. The points will be awarded sequentially with just one point differences between the resulting placings after each round.
