I think it's important to remember that there are three different options here...
There is a single lane racing line track for timed runs and testing. There is a two lane layout with no squeezes for regular racing. And of course there is a three lane option for more experienced racers, where overtaking would be more challenging.
I also forgot to mention that it's semi modular, being made up of four tables, so expansion is possible.
