I like unusual GP cars and one that caught my attention recently was Jo Siffert's 1963 Lotus 24 BRM because of its unusual engine cover and particularly the shortened nose as raced in the Monaco GP. I carved the body based on a blueprint of a standard 24 and from photographs of the Siffert car of which there are a surprising number on the web. My good friend John Warren then moulded and cast it for me and, after a five week journey from New Zealand, I began work on it last week. The photographs below show the actual car and where I've got to.
