Qualifying is now over. Each car had three timed passes, with at least one on each lane. Cars were run on 9 volts beforehand to get a steady motor tone and then were revved at 12volts immediately before each run. Tyres were also cleaned on masking tape. Cars that needed it, received a little TLC to get them running smoothly down the strip.

First to finish was Micro Scalextric Super Stock. The cars were looking the business with wheelie bars and hood scoops, but the times were a mixed bag. Rebecca's opening run was a course record and enough for Top Qualifier - although the win tomorrow could still be anyone's...

   

   


The T-Jet Nostalgia Super Stock had two of the quick cars from last time missing. Their replacements weren't quite as rapid. Clive's Thunderbolt was right up with the best times in June and took the Top Qualifier position - a long way ahead of Andy's Dodge...

   

   


Finally, Micro Scalextric Street Stock qualifying was very exciting. Clive led after the first round, Alan going top after the second. However, two cars set the same fastest ET - 0.651 seconds - in their final runs to leapfrog Alan. On the best second-fastest time, Jane's Veyron ended Top Qualifier, Clive was second and Alan third on 0.652s. You can't get much closer at the top than that! Leo hung onto fourth - with another second-fastest time tie-breaker...
