Hi Garway,......Stick with the .047 rails, you will have zero issues with the Scaley 050.
Below is an F1 chassis I built for a proxy a couple of years back,....it too was Scaley 050 powered with wide(ish) tyres. It is a "flexi board" design and is certainly softer than any single rail .047 chassis,......it has no issues handling the motor/rubber This car dominated (he humbly submitted) that English F1 series.
