It's a runner!
After gluing/truing the tyres then skimming the sidewalls to clear the chassis and bodyshell it was time to test it.
I like heavy cars and never run without ballast but wanted to see how this went with no ballast.
It's already pretty hefty with no windows or interior it tips the scales at 78g
My little test track is a Scaley Sport Rally run, five hairpins, one crossover and takes about 4 seconds for a quick car to go round twice.
Although I didn't time it this land barge was getting round under 5 seconds. I was expecting a deslot-fest with no ballast but had to push really hard to get it to deslot so this is a really pleasant surprise.
Next job is to reduce the 2mm ground clearance for even better handling...and some damping O-rings between the body mounts and chassis to reduce an unpleasant rattle.
Track width under the bodywork is 58mm across the tyre walls and 10mm wide tyres.
