I'm a bit late to the party on this thread.  I'm starting to notice discomfort in my index and middle fingers, and have been wondering if a thumb controller might be better from that perspective.

A couple of times recently I have actually tried using my trigger controller with my thumb.

Horses for courses - and needs must - when age advances, I guess.
