Been a cooking project since Christmas for the local digital club Falcon Raceways to take the gubbins out of the Scalex child sized ARC AIR handle and put the bits into a 3dp handle that is a bit more man sized.
Numerous iterations on the design and print, got to a stage where it was working but needed details tidying to get to a practical design. This sat on the shelf for several months as I was busy on other projects, then Dave a Falcon club member stepped in took over the design and completed as shown below in the coloured prints.
Below is the 3rd, 4th or 15th iteration (lost count, can say I have 20 Design iteration files) showing the internals, the overall size, the custom Falcon logo and how the parts interact between Scalex and 3dp at the prototype stage I reached.
Dave tidied up the battery compartment and some other adjustments on general fit and printed these for the Falcon club as shown below where recently they were used in anger on a club race night.
Cheers
John
