Yes, Revoslot... 1:32 scale... Not another 1990s GT car... What's going on?
Revoslot RS0131 - Alfa Romeo GTA No.25 Twin Pack. RRP £149.95. Scheduled May 2022.
It's been rumoured that Revoslot might make a detour into BRM Group 2 saloon country, but the announcement of a 1:32 scale, metal-chassis, BRM-component Alfa GTA has confirmed it. We only have line drawings and scheduled release dates to drool over at the moment, but do drool away...
Revoslot RS0129 - Alfa Romeo GTA No.25 'Bert Everett Rossa'. RRP £74.95. Scheduled May 2022.
Revoslot RS0130 - Alfa Romeo GTA No.25 'Bobcor'. RRP £74.95. Scheduled May 2022.
Revoslot RS0132 - Alfa Romeo GTA No.93 'Brugger'. RRP £74.95. Scheduled May 2022.
Revoslot RS0133a -Alfa Romeo GTA White Kit. RRP £52.96. Scheduled May 2022.
The Giulia Sprint GTA was Alfa Romeo’s competition version of the Giulia Sprint GT road car. Only 501 were made for homologation, making them one of the most collectible Alfa Romeos and meaning that many are still running. The ‘A’ at the end of the name stands for Alleggerita - Italian for lightweight. Carlo Chiti's Autodelta developed a 740 kg, 170bhp racing touring car that was hugely successful in its various guises from 1966 through the mid-70s. Race wins and championship were picked up across Europe and North America...
All three Revoslot Alfas are based on North American cars, the two #25 GTAs prepared by the Buffalo-based Bobcor team. Bert Everett drove both liveries in Trans-Am - the red in 1970 and the yellow in 1971 - picking up five wins and 11 podiums in 26 races. Gus Andrey added another win and three more podiums, making the car the most successful Alfa in Trans-Am history. Both liveries now appear on historic racers, the red car on the original 1970 chassis. The blue car was a Californian Alfa, raced by Lee Midgley in 1970 and 1971. Midgley won two races in 1970 and finished second in championship. The livery on the Revoslot model is the 1971 version - a contemporary of the yellow #25 - still found on the historic racer today...
This is such a tasty car for Revoslot to start a second range of models. I like that they've chosen the Guilia Sprint GTA rather than the later GTA Junior or GTAm cars with their hugely-flared wheel arches. In my eyes, the Sprint GTA is the most beautiful of the racing Alfa touring cars.
While we wait for more images, here are the specs of the models...
