There's a nice display of TV/Movie and Gulf-liveried cars - neither are new themes for Scalextric, but they look pretty strong in 2020 and, I suspect for the future. TV and movie cars have to be done properly with
the iconic cars - and you can't get more iconic that the James Bond Aston Martin DB5...
This an update for the new Bond 'No Time To Die' film, which is due in cinemas this April. Alongside the DB5 is a very nice 1977 V8 Vantage which also appears in the new film as well as 'The Living Daylights'. Nice car is the V8, although the race car was rather different.
Another iconic movie car is the DeLorean from the 'Back to the Future' films. I didn't get to test it on track, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a fully-functioning time machine.
Next to the DeLorean are two new cars produced under the DC Comics license. On the left is the individual car version of the superbly-decorated Batman LMP car that appeared recently on facebook. On the right is a Joker-inspired car - a fab livery on the new Scalextric Rasio hypercar model (more of that later). Versions of these two also appear in a 2020 DC Comics licensed set.
Finally in the TV and movie cars we have the 'Only Fools and Horses' twin pack...
The three-wheeler will be a 'Marmite' car, but I can't imagine anyone disappointed that there's a Mk3 Capri in the Scalextric range. There's a police car and racing livery also available this year - neither will have leopard-print upholstery though.
